You are right in one respect only, we are dealing with a disgruntled character, one who is unhappy with the company for historic reasons.

It is certainly an artificially constructed post, crafted by the poster who is on many filters, to appear genuine but using prose often reminiscent of a 'medium caliber' Victorian fiction writer:
"I came to it without my will"
Also, note the statements:

"I gave my consent to buy it"
"I would like to thank everyone who helped me with their comments to understand the developments regarding this nebulous stock"
"I will get rid of it at first run, regardless of the losses."

Your latest assertion that defamatory statements you posted originally are only opinion, based on gossip on a BB, is lamentable.
You need to use your loaf and think intelligently instead of just bleating like a sheep.

I felt i had to report cirra's post as follows:

No problem with being in and out but then why comment about this being a very toxic stock?
and also: 'for the most part, only crooks of medium caliber could benefit.'
Some defamatory comments there and to then just walk away stating that you don't see what is wrong with getting rid of the stock, is all a little disingenuous considering your attached slander previously.
In order to qualify as slander, the statement must be untrue but told to others as though it were true.
If it is truly a toxic stock and only of benefit to certain crooks then you must be prepared to qualify your comments or risk violating the rules of posting on the forum, which you seem to have done wilfully.
Such posts cannot be verified as true and are therefore misleading.
Suggestions of criminal activity are not allowed.
Easy to make false comments and then say you owe no explanation other than about inheriting the stock, and etcetera.
I do see what is the problem with that type of irresponsible behaviour.

I really don't see Trmr are mounting buybacks at the expense of R&D or Sales/Marketing.
Neither are they borrowing money to fund buybacks or make acquisitions.
Trmr is buying the stock below its intrinsic value, for all the right reasons and the recent allocation of Trmr shares to News Corps is a better deal (to both parties) than selling shares held in treasury before they have had time to grow.

I believe (rightly or wrongly) that Treasury shares sold a company, in order to fund an acquisition, would also have to be offered to the other shareholders as well and this could perhaps complicate matters in many ways.
Offering a stake in the company by issuing more shares is much more simple and avoids that situation.
In any case, News Corp accepted the new issue of shares and we are where we are.

Buybacks can be mounted to reduce dilution from incentive compensation plans for employees.
Or to fund Capital costs.
Or to acquire another company.

Treasury shares can be used to satisfy awards under employee share schemes and by so doing avoid the 0.5% duty payable on the transfer of shares by an EBT to an employee (transfers of treasury shares are exempt from stamp duty).

Why just a few?

Finncap seems now to be buying (independently) huge amounts of shares suddenly at a much higher price than previously.
What reason is there for that?

I don't think stt1 fully understands that News Corp International now has a stake in Tremor and will pay towards the integration costs of Unruly.
Tremor has gained Unruly and, importantly, with access to News Corp's huge marketplace, the deal will hand Tremor the exclusive right to sell outstream video on more than 50 News Corp titles in the UK, US, and Australia.
This is a bigger deal than stt1 can appreciate or wishes to see succeed and the twisting to suit a negative agenda is therefore entirely predictable.

Tremor has clearly calculated great benefits in the cost savings and synergies from the Unruly acquisition. News Corp is receiving 6.91% of Tremor International stock, subject to an 18-month lock-up period, along with a total minimum revenue guarantee for News Corp of GBP £30m for the partnership.
This represents a good opportunity to scale up without starting from scratch, with all the extra costs involved.
Stt1 begs to differ with Tremor's deal and suggests that it is too expensive, especially in light of the latest virus threat and the typical and well-known late-payment of inventory.
The better-managed companies in the ad tech industry are used to dealing with late payments and since the current virus situation may eventually be recoverable it would seem unfair or even malicious to proclaim doom and gloom at this stage.

bald_eagle, I must have made a mistake in thinking you were once a company accountant, my apologies.
I do believe that if a company holds shares in treasury they have therefore not been cancelled at all.
Tremor stated that the 'buyback. shares are being held in treasury and therefore they must still be available to use at some later date.

The current share buyback (allegedly managed independently) seems rather paltry and intermittent compared to the previous one.
Also, I am not sure if any of the shares put into treasury have ever been used (cashed in) to pay for 'goodies' for staff remunerations.
That sort of thing is entirely permissible but raises a few alarm bells if it is happening as a convenient 'tax-free' way of funding director's perks instead of dispending cash to shareholders with tax consequences?
bald_eagle, as (I believe) a former company's accountant, since retired, would possibly be more able to explain the situation and the pros and cons?
