Yes, it seems to have settled a little bit, doesn't it. I do agree with some of your previous post that this nosedive is painful to watch. Hopefully things will steady and not get much worse. Also, I'm sorry if my reply to it seemed a little off, sometimes things do not read as the poster intends their point to come across. The written word often does that against the spoken one.

Yes possibly. I've never really been much of a fan of shorting. I could never really develop much of a taste for it but that's just me. Things like this Coronavirus are a shorter's wet dream if they are smart or clever enough to pick out your targets and work out when to get out of them. Fair play to those that are savvy enough to play that game, but it's not my cup of tea. That said I imagine that some will have made a good few quid for themselves out of TUI & Dart Group et al of late.

Still. Onwards & upwards.

Not sure I see it as a dead cat just yet. Yes, we've taken quite a hit, but so have others in the leisure sector, Dart Group, TUI, Wetherspoons at al. All on the face of it are well managed businesses but all of which have one thing in common. All are effected by issues outside their control. I won't argue with you that this is painful to watch, but sooner or later this crisis with carnivorous & floods will be resolved and it will be back to BAU. I'll hold off doing anything rash. For now.

A good stream of steady buys coming in this morning which is encouraging. I've just put another £100 in too. Not as much as I would have liked but still. Anything to show a bit of support.

Nice to see some recovery here this morning. TUI & Dart Group also showing improvement. Maybe they've all been at the Beechams powder over the weekend

With this Corona Virus. It's a p*55 weak Mexican drink.

Hobgoblin Gold has much more taste to it than that carp.

Just to add as well, that I would expect all of this to effect our bottom line too, it is all about how much this will have effected us by. Hopefully not by enough to cause too much. But there will be some. We'll have to wait until we see the trading update to have that information.

Being optimistic, it won't be enough to cause problems in servicing our debt, but if that is the case, then perhaps a small short term cut in divvi to meet that shortfall would, in my view be prudent for the greater good, and when the assumed conditions improve then a BAU policy is put back in place then job done.

Sometimes short term pain is necessary for long-term gain.

All of this Coronnavirus & weather conditions ball locks is going to have a detrimental effect on our profits. We can all see that coming to be fair. It all boils down to how much of a hit we end up taking. Those that are into TUI & Dart Group I think would be worried about this perhaps just slightly more than us, as people may well be less inclined to travel abroad or cancel their holidays and possibly have a staycation instead, this could be useful to Marston's pubs in key areas.

You're right about lady luck too. That's how it is for investors like ourselves with limited funds to put away. I doubt there aremany Jordan Belfort's among us but still.

Yes you might well be right. I'm only best placed to grab a couple of hundred or so at the moment anyway, so I'll hang fire for a while.

This bloody virus thing isn't going anywhere any time soon I don't think.

Not to p**s on anyone's parade, but I think that sp's are going to take more of a beasting over the short term, particularly for companies like ours in the leisure sector. It's just a case of bite the bullet and hold your nerve.

Dart Group, (the owners of Jet2) have took a large portion up the Jacksy over the past 2-3 days. Dropping approx £2.50 off it's share price. TUI have not fared much better, MAB have dropped another 4.5p in the last 3/4 of an hour today already. I could go on. We just need to hold our nerve. Maybe this is a good opportunity for a cheeky top up, if in a position to do so.

Yes, lots down today. Dart Group for example dropped £2 per share in the last 24 hours. Ouch! This dropped £1+ in the same time frame too.

A bad few days in general for the leisure industry I think. This Coronavirus is a short sellers wet dream. Tui are down another 53p today, Dart Group down just over another quid each today, so overall they're down just over £2 a share over the past 24 hours or so. I'd be $hitting myself at this time of I was in there. I'dwe are getting off fairly lightly compared to them two, even though this is painful to watch.

It's just about holding our nerve. I just wish I had some spare funds. I'd be topping up big time here if I had.

Agreed. Dart Group are also getting well and truly shafted as well. They're down over £2 in over the past 24 hours or so.

I'm not in either tui or dart but I am in Marston's and they too are being turned over too

It's all about holding one's nerve and a buying opportunity if you have the funds.

You're right about the sector being down.

As I've said in my previous post, I'm not in here, but I am in Mars, and they are down too. As also are TUI, but Dart does seem to have taken quite the beasting today.

Agreed fairdealer. This is always a possibility. But let's not try to second guess it.

Let's see if this does happen and we'll no doubt make a judgement call then.

Dart Group -down £1.08 this morning alone. So we ain't doing too badly.

I've just had a look at a couple of other buainess that I'd expect to be affected by this.

TUI are down 30+p this morning, & Dart Group (the owners of Jet2) have been stung the worst though. - down 92p today ouch! So I'd say while any drop in sp is unpleasant, compared to those two, we're fairing reasonably well. Let's not worry too much about things we have no control over. :-)
