I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that under normal circumstances, they do have to pay for all rpoms they hold. But would have thought that there would be clauses in contracts to cover contingencies like this.
To suggest that hotels would go bust because of just this is ludicrous. Unless it goes on for more than a year or so. It will make things very difficult to day the least.
And if one company goes the same way as TCG, is it unreasonable to assume that surviving airlines will scoop up those hotels, sand possibly leasing aircraft short to med term to service capacity?
And finally, do you really believe that hoteliers simply rely on holidaymakers just from the UK? Trust me, they dont.
Ive seen plenty of German, Polish, British holiday makers in hotels ive stayed at in Greece, to say nothing of German Airlines et al landing at such airports.
Im not picking at you, just observing a few flaws in your post.
