On the news just now that the interest rate has been cut from 3/4% to 1/4%.

Hopefully this will be well recieved by the markets when they open.

I'm not sure how I feel about the divvi Hypothesis. For me, Thats all it is. I'm not too sure how the drop in the sp alone effects divvi payments. I'm sure someone wiser than myself could enlighten me???

If, as I suspect that all this CV ball locks is going to effect our bottom line, and I believe that it will, then a reduction or the suspension of a dividend short term is an understandable and prudent strategy which I would support. Again, this is something we are not going to know until we see the next trading update and possibly the one after. I'm taking the view that a reduction in divvi is on the cards but we'll just have to wait and see.

I've just seen a post about how this Coronavirus is affecting the stock markets. Some of the comments are so absurd I really don't understand how they manage to wipe their backsides in the morning. I really dont.

"Rich people losing money hahahahaha", blah blah blah blah blah.

I just tried educating one of them, asking where he thinks the money that gets put into his pension pot goes, where his boss gets the money to pay his wages from, and what happens to him if his boss loses a lot of his operating profit etc.

Now, I don't claim to be the sharpest tool in the box, but I tell you, if it wasn't for Facebook, I'd find it a lot harder to believe people were this stupid.

Yes, I think this is the case all across the board. I imagine that most are down at the moment. The only ones making money at the moment are the shorters. Bite the bullet time short term im afraid.

If it was just this share that was taking the beasting, I'd be long gone by now. But it isn't. Plenty of others out there fairing much worse than ourselves. We'll just have to wait until we see the next set of results before we see how much damage all this c*ap has caused, but we have to expect some. On the plus side, I'm hoping that off sales from the supermarkets offsets some of the damage of those not going to the pub

Some will defer their holidays, others wont. I will not be. My holiday to Greece is going ahead, until or unless told to abandon it by the authorities. Should that happen, I'll be claiming it back off the insurance, and booking something else in an unaffected area. But I'm just pig headed.
Tui going down to £2 a share? I don't see that myself, but have been proved wrong before many times.

I'm not so sure about closing my shorts. I've thrown a few pairs of destroyed shorts in the bin lately, but I suspect that's another story.

It was a bit more than that from my point of view I'm afraid.

I'm sure I've said this already, but we as a family usually book one specific hotel in Zakynthos for late in the season. Usually we get it for approx £3100. this year Tui wanted £4160 for it. Admittedly this is an AI, but it was last year too, and we always pay to eat out anyway.

Now, a couple of hundred quid is one thing, I'd have taken it on the chin & booked it, but I didn't think it was worth an extra grand on top, which did disappoint me, as I've always been a good advocate of Thomson's as the service we get from them as an airline is top notch. But for me, it was way over the top.

That said, I looked at a hotel which is just around the corner which unfortunately for me is a Jet2 listed property. (I'm not particularly their biggest fan) but a grand is a grand. Plenty of extra cash for eating out for us all plus a fair bit of change for a few trips.

I just don't see how I am going the only one cross checking prices between the two airlines I'm afraid, which is likely to cost TUI bums on their plane seats. It's a shame really, but that's just the way it is. Hopefully they'll have taken this into account for next year's booking and be a bit more reasonable.

I'm struggling to understand the logic of stock piling bog rolls. Everyone metaphorically $hitting themselves is one thing. But this hardly warrants buying yourself a warehouse full of bog rolls.

Mr Kipling cakes and Hobgoblin Gold beer on the other hand are of course sensible precautions.

What about abolishing Tax on beer for us minority males that need alcohol as a necessity to endure menstrual females?

Tui were trying it on asking a grand more for our usual place than last year, so thats at least 4 empty seats they have on that flight. I think there's possibly going to be a few more.
