Only difference between mine and anyone holding this one is that We have the off sales in supermarkets to take some of the sting out of it in some small way, but good luck to holders here. Its a good point. Hopefully the supermarkets will order extra supplies on top of what they would normally order to keep up with increased demand ((hopefully) which can only be good for us.

That's good to hear, and with our beers stocked in every high street supermarkets, the income is going to take some of the edge off lost revenue from pubs.

As mentioned before, we all know how supermarket chains love to screw over suppliers over margins, but I'd have thought still make some money out of it.

Yes, this would be prudent. I don't specifically need the money for anything at the moment. Although grabbing a few extra shares at this price would be a bonus, I'm happy for the company to use my share of the dividends to help pay someone's wages. They may well need the money more than me.

Can't argue with that, Fairdealer. I agree it's all hypotheses at the moment. You could well be fully correct.

As I say, my response was simply my initial thoughts.

It was just gone half past five this morning when I read your post. Our little lad needs educating on the importance of a bit of a lie in rather that getting us all up at stupid O'clock every morning. Bl*ody 5am he had us all up today!!!

There was nothing there really that we didn't really see coming in all fairness.

Dividend being suspended short term is something we will have to accept is coming. Preserving cash to use to pay staff wages, bills and the suchlike is prudent considering that there may well be reduced income coming into the company.

Hopefully, the financial damage may not be quite the Armageddon we think it might be. Fingers crossed.

Those were just my immediate thoughts. Perhaps when market conditions improve, or if the sp was at say, 40 - 50p each at this time, then I would go for a RI at your 50p suggestion to give my support to the company.

Interesting numbers at first glance, but not so sure about them to be fair. A couple of things immediately pop to mind.

1. It all depends on the terms of the debt. If we have flexibility to make additional paymemts to reduce interest, suspending divvi for a short time, combined with the money we got for offloading those pubs we believe to be poor performers would be a good move and would save us a few quid in interest paymemts.

2. For me, a RI at 1-1 @ 50p is a non starter.

Given the destruction of the sp at this time, I would not be prepared to spend my money on buying a limited number of shares based on my current holding at just over double the current market value. I'd be more inclined to use that money to obtain as many as i could from the open market and take my chances on increased value over the course of time.

If a RI at that price is on the cards, id be more inclined to wait for market conditions to offer me better value on it to be attractive to me.

But based on that rationale, I'd say your figures look reasonable.

I've got this information from a "Fact checker" site. How accurate it is May well be debatable. I'm not going to bore the $h*t out you all with having you read it all, I'll just post some selected highlights.

In 2016, the UK spent £13.4 billion on overseas aid, in line with the 0.7% target. It was passed into law, but is not enforceable.

Here is where a large chunk of it supposedly went.

Pakistan got £463 Million
Syria got £352 Mill
Afghanistan got £235 Mill.

There are plenty of other places that get our cash too, and as fairdealer correctly says, so does India. Even though it's common knowledge they have a space programme. Now for my money, if they can afford to fund that, they why are they putting their hand in our pockets to fund their "Poverty stricken" citizens?

Meanwhile Flooded areas of the UK got how much last year from our Govenment?

Anyway rant over. It just boils my **** when I see our money just ****ed against the wall on Countries that don't even like us, while our own are just left out in the cold.

At the risk of being unpopular, I could find approx £13Bn easily enough. Suspend all foreign aid for a year or so.

I'm all for helping others. Once I know my own house is in order.

But that's just me.
