Anything is possible I suppose, I wouldn't have put money money on Marston's being in this position last Monday. I for one never saw it coming.

I have to agree. I'm staying put myself. This will recover once some level of normality returns. People will start going to work on the bus as usual at some point.

I can't really say that this is unexpected to be fair. Its the same all round.

This is a good buying opportunity for those with cash to investl and build up a nice portfolio for yourself if you can hold on to it.

Yes, it can be difficult keeping young children busy. That said there's always something an "old school" character like myself can muster for them to do, our youngest lad is at an age where he wants little jobs to do all the time. Needless to say our house is almost spotless. Well, if he wants his pocket money........

Hi mate Yes, I'm doing reasonably well. Our boys have been away from school for the past 7 weeks or so so are bored, but beyond that, holding up well.

That said I'm enjoying ripping into Piers Morgan and his hypocrisy and disecting his rants. Gotta do something to keep boredom at bay, right.

I'm not convinced that a full release of the lockdown is prudent yet. Not by a long way. A slight easing would be sensible I think. All businesses becoming operational at say 50% capacity to maintain some level of social distancing and then a gradual increase in capacity.

We all saw a second wave of problems in China recently haven't we. It's pointless rushing things to end up back at square one, or worse.

When lockdown is lifted and we are all back to work, then those that get the bus to work/the shopping centres/trips to and from the pub will resume as normal.

Ive just had a bit of a flash of genius that I've emailled Marston's with suggesting that landlords & tennants offer a home delivery service to help deplete stocks rather than it sat iidle n the pubs to go out of date. Cans & bottles are easy to shift, but does anyone remember those plastic kegs that were out years ago that could be taken to the pubs and filled with draft beers? Why not reintroduce those.

It was just an idea to help publicans & us earn a few extra bob we wouldn't have had.

If I get a response I'll put it up on here.

I've just seen a report on GMB about how pubs, cafe's and the suchlike have been allowed to remain open during this pandemic. As Marston's exports some of our beers there I'm wondering how much of our prducts are being sold to customers

Certainly share prices all across the board are going nowhere in a hurry. We can all bet our goolies on that as a certainty.

Even when we're in a position of back to work & normal service being resumed, we'll have the cost of all the economic fallout to contend with with no one being able to go out.

As some of you may know, I am in Stagecoach as well, and am seeing plenty of busses going past with one or two (literally) passengers on them. Some are going past with noone but the driver on it.

Relating to Marstons, I'd say we are better placed than 'Spoons et al. We are getting the benefit of a few quid coming in via off sales in supermarkets. Ok its not going to replace lost revenues from the pubs but its a luxury that spons does not have.

Does anyone know if staff are working at the breweries & bottling & canning plants at the moment?

It's great that we have the off sales to bring some cash in, but if all the brewery staff have been furloughed, we'll have nothing to sell to the supermarkets. Just a thought.

I do actually remember seeing this one at 20p roughly round about then but bizarrely didn't fancy taking the risk. What a mistake that turned out to be still these things happen.

Recovery will come. Its just a matter of buying in when you can & biding your time IMO

Trying to guess where a share price, any share price will go is rather pointless. No one knows.

In fairness though, and I have been told that I'm wrong. I don't think so, but I'd say that there will be further drops over the coming weeks/months because companies will take a while to recover financially due to lost revenues. Hopefully these drops will not be by too much, but trying to guess where the bottom is is as much my guess as anyone else's. All I'd say to anyone is to hold off buying any share until things stabilise a bit and hopefully we'll all add to our favourite shares at the best possible price.
