I'm Stockport, Stagecoach operate each bus at roughly 40% capacity. I'm not sure how the driver works that out, but once that is reached, a "Bus full" notice goes up on the destination board. And you have to wait for the next one. Not much fun if you happen to be on a route with only 1 an hour though.

I can shine a bit of light on this area. In the Manchester area, there are 2 main operators. First Group operate in the Manchester, Oldham, Bury area. Manchester City Centre both First & Sgc are active, and in Stockport, Stagecoach is the main operator with 98% of us services. Hope this throws a bit of light on proceedings.

The market doesn't wait, it is forward looking, and it appears the market is getting more confident by the day that soon, effective vaccines will get Covid 19 under control,hence the current price.

Very true, and good points. Either way, what they think is going to happen, and what actually does happen are sometimes quite different things. At the moment, with these vaccines it is reasoned speculation on what we think & hope will happen. If they work, and the virus is substantially subdued, or better still, totally destroyed, then great. Job done. But as yet, however effective those vaccines are is something that remains to be seen. But fingers crossed.

No, I don't see it doubling. Not considering how Covid has disrupted trading for the past 6 months or so. Don't forget that a major peak trading time (Christmas) is also likely to be affected, dependant on whatever lockdown measures are imposed.

The rise in so over the past few days in my view is a knee jerk reaction to the news of vaccines becoming available. I'd say that we'd have to wait until an effective vaccine has been rolled out & started to defeat the virus & we can all start going out more regularly in a more unfettered manner before we see those kind of figures in the sp

Hi mate. No, I don't see us being in a position to do buybacks for the foreseeable to be fair.

Equally, I'm starting to think that a RI seems unlikely as well atm to be fair. I don't see the need for it because a) they've just completed the Carlsberg deal, so they have money to pay down debt, also, b) they've said that they also have cash on the hip to keep things ticking over for now. There is no immediate requirement for additional fund raising. The banks are not breathing down their neck for payments. Just my opinion of course.

There is some dilution yes, as there are more shares in issue. That said, as per a previous post of mine on this, this should over time level out. That said, listed companies do have the option at a later stage to conduct buy backs, where, as the term suggests, they can buy the additional shares back and take them out of circulation, often they are held in treasury, which means they lie dormant and carry no dividends etc, etc.
