@Sweetness. I think that those still in SGC (myself included) are keen to see how this pans out.

I did topslice the equivalent to my profit out of them, but still holding the equivalent to my original stake in them. It does seem that there is still some mileage (no pun intended) left in this to be fair. Mad not to see if a bit more can be squeezed out of proceedings.

Ive just got a couple of £100 to find a home for, so it'll be more of a back burner one rather than divvis I think.

Sorry for off topic, but'm in a bit of an odd position atm. I've put a chunk of my trading pot into PFD to see if I can add a £100 or so to it (which I'll be putting in here if/when I get it)

But I've still got a couple of hundred quid left that I'm looking for a home for. I was considering gold mining but something's putting me off. Any suggestions at all?

Well, it looks like this one is going well for those that hold here. I'm just a bit disappointed that I can't join the party due to broker issues. Still, not to worry, I'm sure I'll sniff out other opportunities. GL all who are in here.

@RFC2020. Thanks mate. That explains that. I'm not with them, I'm with Halifax. I'll have to think about putting my cash elsewhere then. Something to think about I guess.

I did have a look at placing a small order in for a couple of 1000 shares earlier but ticker code came back unrecognised. Very odd.

@ Davethedumplin. Yes, that's the one. What's your take on this?

As I say, I know naff all about the finer points on mining shares, I do intend to do some research on this to bone up on it a bit before I commit any cash, so input is welcome.

I'm not in here as yet, but chanced upon a report over the weekend saying that Warren Buffett, (unusual for him, apparently) has stocked up on gold (Mining?).

Nothing to suggest he has taken a position here but I'm intreagued enough to look into a small punt.

Normally, I shy away from mining shares as I know naff all about them but can see how a position in Gold may well be a prudent move.

@Crystal. I mostly agree with you on this, but there's a small point that I am following that you may not have seen. NEX have not said they are walking away and taking their bid no further. They've been seen to be saying "We're considering our options". If they'd taken the mindset they're not interested in pursuing SGC,maybe they'd have said so? That to me would have made some kind of sense to perhaps gamble on getting a better price?

The fact that they've said "considering options" implies they're still interested enough to look at what else they might want to offer. This is pure speculation on my part based just on my take on it of course.

@Barchid. Yes, you are correct. I am in SGC. I sold them & got a nice little wedge out of it. But I got wind that Nex are "considering their position" on proceedings, so bought back in with a 2500 share holding to see if there was any more mileage in it, but I've got a nice little trading pot of just over £1k in my ISA looking for a home.

I'm not sure that it has. I think they'll come back with another offer. They've not said that they're walking away, just "we can't say anything". Why would they say that if they're not thinking about something?

I think there's a bit more mileage in this. We shall see.

@ Charlie Bur. Yes, he is a worry, isn't he. You expect them to get the basics right.

@Peakybinder. Yes, if it goes to this new bidder, I think I might just buy a few NEX shares myself out of the proceeds.

I'm in SGC, but not NEX.

I'd have been happy to have transferred my holding there into the new enlarged nex/sgc myself in all fairness, but if that falls through, I'll dip a toe in here I think.

I'm SGC, this could get very interesting indeed. Buckle up for the ride.

@peakybinder. At the very least I'd say mate. Maybe a bit more. I'd expect a rise to a minimum open of £1.05

It doesn't look like you're gonna be getting your 50p buy in any time soon mate.
