Priced for perfection?14 Mar 2021 10:28
Don’t shoot me but can someone please explain how Avacta is valued at almost 50% higher than Novacyt, when Novacyt has banked a year’s worth of huge revenues and profits (in the hundreds of millions) and Avacta is only just about to commercially launch its test? It seems that potential profits is better than cold hard cash! I’m also really really struggling to believe that mass testing will be around on any meaningful scale beyond this year. As for the U.K., IMO there will no meaningful mass testing beyond July... To me, this share has been hyped. I’m sure it will do will and generate some decent revenue this year. But the fact remains, this is priced purely on huge expectations of mass testing and the risk is clearly to the downside. Has anyone even considered the costs to governments around the world of sustained mass testing? Once Covid restrictions are fully lifted, public opinion will shift fast and mass testing will simply be on non-starter. Look forward to the abusive responses!
