They crossed the threshold on the 20th and notified the market yesterday. That’s 2.6% ish picked up in one hit. We know this because there were no interim TR1’s as per the DTR5 rules for notifications of any whole % change over 3% for UK issuers.

We don’ know if that was from one seller or several but it’s a decent lump for a sticky hand and probably explains some of the strange NT’s on Friday when running dummy trades.

If you look at the chart on max here you will see this drop is part of GSK’s repeated behaviour. That’s an historical fact. If you draw a line from the troughs from 2008 to now you can see that GSK is periodically reaching a higher low over a long time frame. That is another fact.

If you assume the pattern will be repeated then the SP will bounce and return to a gentle uptrend to a mid point of 1650 as it resumes its snail like recovery back to the 1998 highs. That is not a fact it’s charting and conjecture albeit the historical odds favour that scenario.

Hence I am buying.

Three years ago it would be great news. Today it’s just another hobby for the next couple of years. Play doh graphene, write a paper may or may not lead to sales and my worry is all that time that is folk doing that and not driving route to market for immediately scalable products.

There was a ‘rogue trade’ at 72p. Also some poor sell prices at 79p. I have no idea why but they are on the system.

There are also a huge number of single digit trades. I have noticed the MM’s doing this a lot recently on other stocks. It may be that they are just firing odd numbers across books to match orders or trying to contain the price. However, they are type XOFF not ALGO.

I do think they will struggle here to contain it unless the SP tempts a seller. If we get an insti seller you can be sure the SP will rocket to tempt buyers! If they have a thin book they will do whatever they can to keep the price down to generate some liquidity.

It tends to work like that. The opposite to what you expect.

Thanks but imo you are again missing out. Investors make a common mistake looking at a sp and saying it was 60p and now it’s 90p so I’m not buying back in.

This is at 90p is a £54m mcap with 61m shares and now landed a major deal with production and route to market in the offing. £2 a share is only 122m mcap. A £300m mcap is now well within reach. They just supply the graphene for those hitech battery sales around the world!

That means production. Wakey wakey. It’s not in a lab or waiting patents, funding or all the usual spin we get. It’s production! Albeit to an initial select market but with the power, weight and ESG credentials I don’t see why even just a few of the customers wouldn’t want more. The market opportunity is huge!

If anything that’s the problem Directa now have scaling up. Gonna get very interesting here.

I expect manufacturing/royalty deals to follow in the not to distant future with big chemical manufacturer(s).

Typical of AIM you sit in a stock for years with all the good news ignored then you get one RNS that changes everything. Imo this is it. It’s hard currency, it’s sales at volume, its protected USP IP.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a bid now.

I think they may have even had a soft heads up prior to the £80m insti raise. I mean that is a heck of a lot of money for a P3 trial given all the risks. There must have been a plan B fallback. That imo would be an arms length price tag for the company as is and a level of confidence that they could sell recouping a sufficient level of institutional funds.

But a sovereign test is essential. There may still be a backlash with China. They can give products nice British sounding names but people aren’t stupid. Look at the acrimony between Oz and China atm!

I have just bought the rest I sold back. It’s simple logic really. The RNS is not ‘lipstick on a pig’, it’s just a slight delay, sure the USP has a hit BUT my simple view is they now have a safer product, more straightforward manufacturing and whatever they make they will still sell.

The virus, unfortunately is not going to disappear in 6 months. The vax program will not be completed in the UK let alone in the world in 6 months.

That means at a very basic level AVCT will be able to achieve sales well in excess of their current mcap so the share price will eventually recover.

I am not interested in AV6000 it’s too far off. I was invested for the LFD but at the end of the day the light touch nasal swabs will sell.

We may still deliver a saliva based LFD but from an investment perspective I am now just basing my case on nasal test sales and that whilst it may not be £10 a share it could still be a safer £4 in a few months.

Plus there may even be the chance to buy more shares cheaper. Now there aren’t that many investment opportunities like that out there.

I admit I am one who changes my mind but imo one has to look at the data and reevaluate one’s investment decisions.

It’s something I have had to learn to do because the market and the situation changes.

Had I thought this was a lost cause I would have sold in a blink but I am in a fortunate position to be able to sit and hopefully accumulate a few more later as my view is the SP will be much higher in 3 and 6 months time.

Live and learn mate. You handed your shares to the MM for a best price. If you are lucky you will get 117 which is what I sold half mine for by hitting the refresh screen about 30 times until a price came up!

I then bought half back at 112 and will grab some more later. I mean it’s rude not to!

All said it’s a jam tomorrow RNS. No S&S numbers, change of plan. Worth selling your shares at 180 to buy a house for knowing full well this was gonna happen!

Still it’s all the realities of investing but the game is not over yet.
