The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Excellent post again Illusion. As are Tiburns. What I think most investors here seem to not comprehend is when Art states he EXPECTS certain things to happen at certain times. Is because that is what he EXPECTS. He built Oilexco up to what it was because he has the foresight and work ethic to EXPECT all those working with him also have the same attitude to make things happen yesterday. Because that is what he EXPECTS. Unfortunately not everyone, including lenders, potential JV partners etc. may not have the same vision he does. That IMO is what let’s AM down. He has always stated he will increase shareholder value. This is one thing he has never put a time limit on. But ironically, every shareholder actually expects this to happen yesterday.
Fast food - oh come on what? I’ve already stated I can’t agree or disagree with that statement. The reason being I wasn’t watching the sp at the time. I only saw it at around 45% down. The reason I didn’t see it was because I was reading the prospectus. By the time I was informed by a colleague that the sp was falling and saw it at 45% down. I firstly asked myself had I missed something? At no point did I think, fcku! I’d better start selling all my shares because we’re going bust! So like I say if it was the MM’s that dropped it due to a their interpretation of the RNA. Then that is illegal and requires investigation. IF that is the reason
Bolton - I can’t agree or disagree with what you are stating. If you are correct, then IF the MM’s did drop this by 20/30% off their own backs then that is illegal and requires investigation. If it dropped by that amount due to PI’s bailing as soon as the RNA came out. That’s a different matter
Wwal - That’s exactly what I’m saying. No one read the prospectus in full, BEFORE deciding to sell their shares. Had they bothered reading it. The sp wouldn’t have crashed within half an hour. A) because they’d still be reading it, at that time
and
B) they would have realised it wasn’t that the company are stating they are going bust. But that the ‘going concern’ statement is regulatory and is used in every RNA, update, RS report etc,etc
No Namor. The majority, if not all trolls on the board don’t hold any shares. So would be impossible for them to affect the sp in any way. It was anyone who did hold shares, that failed to read the prospectus in full before deciding to sell their shares that crashed the sp. IMO
Thanks Ed. I knew there had to be a logical explanation for why an experienced oilman who knows exactly what he’s doing would do it that way. Just proves there’s not many posters on this board, myself included, that fully understand what’s involved in running an oil company.
I would have to disagree that all indications point to Exxon. I have mentioned the following indications before but will add again:
A) I have a Continental quilt on my bed
B) I have Continental tyres on my car
C) I have Continental breakfasts when I go on holiday, to the Continent
D) We are surrounded by a Continental shelf
E) My wife enjoys Thornton Continental chocolates
The list goes on. So I would have to say there are more indications pointing to another major. I’m not going to mention who in case it fcuks up the NDA!
I agree with LovelyJubly on the body language aspect. The second Art mentions Exxon he looks away, to his left. As if to distance himself from the comment and ensure anyone listening, that in no way has he breached the NDA and mentioning Exxon was in a totally different capacity. Well that’s what my training at the behavioural science department, Langley taught me. With Jodie Starling!
