Slowly getting a different view on Ioxus.

1 a big field recall with Daimler trucks. 3000+ trucks recalled over production period of several months. This could be a serious design problem. For normal cars it is about $100 to get them recalled in the garage, this is excluding the costs to replace and replacement product. This will be costly... In automotive world this is not nice because you can also forget about new design wins.

2 Explains also why Jeff Colton (ip on ustart) suddenly decides to move towards Cap-XX. He started in January.

3 looks the recall is ongoing right now, I think Ioxus mgt team has a lot of topics to handle simultaneously...

I found this link which estimates 60mln$ Of revenue. But very difficult to find something since they are 100% part of custom electronics.

My summary:
1 Ioxus would like to Settle already in January (which in principle is good news)
2 Cap-xx rejected the proposal (which is also good news)
3 Suddenly the legal representatives of Ioxus want to stop because they did not get paid.

Which reasons can be behind this ?

1 they worked on no cure no pay base and that they do not believe in it anymore.=> good news.
2 Ioxus has problems to pay them (how are their finances ?)=> good news

OS, since you have often an outside in view, can you give your opinion ? (Serious question)
Of course also opinions of others are appreciated.

The nice thing about cap-xx is that the shareprice is totally not affected by corona or oil news ;-)

Maybe maxwell and ioxus couldnt agree on the same approach ?

Nice coincidence today:

I had a demo from a new high end branded handheld barcode/dmc scanner today and they explained me that there was a supercapacitor onboard.

The reason was that in case you change the battery, the memory unit keeps in a kind of sleeping mode and preventing to loose the memory.

The reason for the supercapacitor is that based on experience a secundary battery mostly dies after two years.

So many clues towards cr2032 batteries.

I think that Murata figured out that whilst working on the Umal that further integration towards one component should be the next step (hassle free assembly):

A widen the license to batteries.
B Ask cap-xx for 3volt for better fit with the battery.
C start development in 2015. 4 years from idea to mass mfg is based on my experience a realistic timeline.

Since I’m not a specialist in batteries and supercaps, I was wondering if it would be technical feasible to combine those into one ?

Still struggling with this text in the audited results ended 30 june 2016:
In April 2016, Murata and CAP-XX reached agreement to broaden the existing licence agreement to include battery markets and additional supercapacitor sizes. Following this agreement, Murata announced in late June 16 that it was launching a range of lithium ion batteries. Murata has confirmed that mass production of the new device commenced in June 2016 and that it plans to expand its product line-up to meet future demand for large capacity devices

I also thought that the 3volt was developed on specific request from Murata, but I can’t find this back anymore, does someone still remember this and if so, share a link ?

Received the murata cr2032R coin batteries finally. I opened one and compared it with a normal Grundig cr2032 coin battery.

Both have equal stack built up, so no additional layers/parts present in the murata version. No sign of a seperate thin supercapacitor inside the housing.

So I think the high drain is done by special herbs and spices which still might be cap-xx related, but this is something where I have no idea on how to check this.

Means we need to be patient for at least another week..

I will anyway use the batteries for my car fob :-)

Gives me the impression that the electrolyte herbs have been improved (which is the core of cap-xx ip and competence):

The electrolyte in the core of the battery is a composite made from the molten Lithium salt and an organic solution to promote the high-density power exchange from the core to the exterior interface. These batteries can provide high voltage and high energy density, as well as good performance over a wide working temperature range.

This would mean that when opening the ordered cells, nothing can be seen and still no conclusions can be drawn yet and we simply need to wait and pray a bit longer untill we learn from it by increased royalty results from murata.

Anyway, tracking says the coins will be delivered today, for sure I will open one during the weekend....

Hmmmm..... that is a significant buy...
