Frac, thanks for sharing. Interesting link. I was already a bit wondering why these car fob’s need a supercap. My carfob battery lasts for about 2-3 years so lifetime isn’t a real issue. But adding functions will for sure make them far more power hungry.

PP1, very good summary and I fully agree.

OS, you and others indeed mentioned before that licensing solely was not the way moving forward (me included) since by not baking the bread yourself, I’m convinced innovation will come to a stop.

On the other hand, I things really start to scale up (I really think cap-xx was in front of the whole iot,energy harvesting and lorawan Infrastructure/modules and also solely on licensing they could earn money (with ver low operational costs).

I think betting on both horses is a very good approach. Let’s see in 5 years what will be the cash cow of these both departments (production or legal ?)

Maybe time to pick up some more shares in the coming weeks... thanks for all good insights sharing.

James, I hope you are wrong, but I also think that time to deliver is there for a while.

On the other hand, I also like the approach on setting up own mfg capacity, this is in the long haul an important cash generator.

I also think that nobody projected Corona and the question is how they handle these sudden change in circumstances. That’s why I’m curious about the installation progress. I think the impact should be very limited, if not I really think there is not enough manufacturing and entrepreneurship in the company.

The question is if cap-xx management has same kind of / sense of business Urgency attitude (by heart an r&d firm...)

James, I think this shouldnt be the case. We recently installed and started some high tech equipment in Europe provided by some company in southeast asia and we managed this quite good by remote access and a some video connections. They were the brains and we “the hands”. This worked out pretty good. Another advantage is that the in depth training of own staff starts immediately. Cheers ;-)

Hayashi, for sure in case there is tangible proof cap-xx is involved. A bit later, one should see it in sales.

My point is that all building blocks for breakthrough in iot are there, time is there for market penetration and mass volumes...

Removing the shorting block from JP1 will disconnect the supercapacitor from the MCU and allow the MCU’s supply current to be measured. When plugged into USB, the supercapacitor is charged to a nominal voltage of 3.8 V.
