The UK has gone covid crazy. Years of underfunding and an underperforming health care service really showing weakness. Now everybody pays in more ways than one. I get it that Boris doesn't want to be remembered as the PM that did nothing like Trump.
No political agenda, not been to the UK in 5 years and unlikely to ever return.
I can't wait for the warm weather again. I am still at Gib but leaving for the Canaries middle of next month.

Business like Ethernity do well by specialising in niche products. To get so far ahead that others just buy in rather than in house in a opportunity too small for massive business.
I got the DU future wrong. I saw it as a integrator role building the chain but now I think that the DU solution will be part of a specialist server. David disclosed interest from three server producers. There really aren't any small server manufacturers. A DU specific server will be a completely new opportunity.

Not competing with Ethernity but it illustrates the scale of the opportunity.
Ethernity are Telecom specialists and can use any fpga to build a SmartNIC.

My rule is that I don't have to buy at the bottom or sell at the top. However I have to know why I buy and why I sell.

Sales volumes will ramp quickly once it starts. Field trials concluded and actual field data available will make future deployment rapid. I agree it is really another 6 months before we see the fireworks but by then the sp will be above £1.

I guess a few people are getting bored. Big adventures are coming but for now it's dull. Field trials news will be maybe 3 months but between then and now we can expect news from 2 non 5G sources I am encouraged to think.
We can also expect some concept testing from mainstream server manufacturers for a DU specific server with Ethernity SmartNIC and Vrouter within. There will be pressure building on these manufacturers already for a DU solution. I believe that all DU specific servers will use a Vrouter and Ethernity a unique in providing this.
I would like to think by May or June that this product will be market ready.
The IP should provide engagement income and long term royalty payments. If they engage 3 manufacturers we could see $5-10m in upfront payment.

They will get a lot busier soon. Ethernity can work with any of the leading fpga. However as we know the fpga of choice is Xilinx XCKU15P in the ACEnic-100. Ethernity will be using a lot of third party silicon in their devices. The value to Ethernity is what they do with them. Ethernity is the ultimate solution for Telecom, there will be other providers but when it comes to Telecom they lead.
Up to now 5G has been about components reaching 5G like performance. This year we'll see the application of width and volume to 5G. Next year we'll see a explosion in devices especially Industrial.

I wouldn't worry about posting anything negative it just creates discussion. Clearly not every day is a winner. We jumped a bit now we wait for the next one. The impatient will jump around. I sit with a small amount of available cash and will add a few more this week.

I don't think that there is any risk of running out funds at any stage.

I have attached suspect that they will exceed £10m in royalty from one major server producer. I believe that we'll see most of the majors bring out a DU server for 5G. It's a part of the system 6 months ago nobody knew had a challenge and Ethernity have removed a link and slashed the cost. Complex multicore servers are tens of thousands. Here we have a modified CoTS server capable of delivering a simple powerful solution and I am guessing about 25% of the cost.
How will server manufacturers feel about this. They will hate it for sure but they will all play along and fit Ethernity DU inside.

Not in that trial. Ethernity will definitely be involved in China Mobile 5G. Their 5G network currently performs within expected 5G parameters but is not the 5G ecosystem. That means that it connects to the network at 5G speed but the compute is done at the data center. OK for now but rapidly they will need to scale up. Ethernity possibly through Fiberhome will be providing appliance and functionality. They are perfectly placed.

When you actually dissect their product portfolio you realise that not all are going the same way. It appears that fpga based SmartNIC is the most efficient and cost effective.

I don't see the majors competing over this. I think that they will all just sign up at the best possible terms.

How many actually have comprehensive functionality on their SmartNICs. Napatech and Ethernity. How many specialise in the Telecom. Ethernity. How many have a DU product Ethernity.

Ethernity are not actually in their sector. I think that this is point missed. They compliment the sector but are not within it. They facilitate it. There is no need to own Ethernity to benefit they will just by using their products. Take the DU specific server. Current here are no DU specific servers, so every server for the DU will have a on board router. Without it they won't be able to compete. Ethernity DU solution is the only router on the NIC.
So who is going to buy Ethernity, a server manufacturer who knows nothing about SmartNICs, a SmartNIC competitor, a Telecom? I don't think any of those. A prospector wanting to make a fortune.... Just buy shares.

Skid depends on the spread of the revenue. The hardware margins I suspect will be moderate the code and virtual products almost 100%. I don't think that we'll see much of an increase in head count.
I suspect that a £15m turnover will produce a £5m profit. I suspect that a £30m turnover will produce a £15m profit. Based on royalties and no in house manufacturing. It is all down to the mix of revenues.
