Your opinion is stupid. The main difference between open and ASICs is the future requirements. It is the differential between the two and the reason why some will pay more for 5G now and others will pay over and over.

12 months ago OpenRAN was seen still as a side play a "funnies". Now things have very much changed. This will inevitably cause some delays as for many OpenRAN is not quite ready yet. Much is unproven like actual interoperability which is very much a concept Still. It lacks maturity, reliability and for some stability but it has to start somewhere to gain these things.
China has jumped in with both feet, Europe sits on the edge even the big 4 are only partially convinced wishing to mix and match.

Yes it will run on open networks for sure. 6G will be all about the device and the way it interacts with the network and other devices. It will exploit the potential of 5G. However ASICs is about a target performance and who is to say what 6G or indeed 5G will actually require or where it will take us.
OPEN canybe manipulated and tuned live in real time. ASICs needs to be ripped out and new hardware installed. If a NIC cannot be reconfigured to meet demand the data can be routed differently or another NIC deployed in parallel. Adding servers to ASICs is often not possible. Open is future proof ASICs is future guessing.

I think that we can all see that OpenRAN and 5G private networks are starting to gain some traction now. Germany has 88 private networks either started this year or with permits to start this year. China has thousands. Although these networks are quite specific in their challenges because they are largely Industry focused many will require exceptional performance. Largely they are replacing WiFi and broadband based current solutions. New solutions are clearly the target group as the potential is huge. Some are simply field trials like the exercise Ethernity are involved in at several stages and locations. However these trials with installed infrastructure will go on to become other things.
The commitment from Europe is predictably small but commitments are substantial from 2025 onwards. That will be largely upgrades. That tells me in 2025 they expect their ASICs installations to become obsolete and seeking upgrade or ripping out millions of investment to buy what they should have at the start.
6G definitely won't run on ASICs without 5G like investment again. Telecom will start to look to the next Gen in 18 months time. At that point Europe will be mass deploying 5G.

We'll see a lot of this moving forward. Brian said quite rightly that we'll see these small private test cases before we see mass deployment. I suggest that China has many of these already and some will be using Ethernity kit.

I am seeing lots of these types of reports as regions and operators consider OpenRAN as an alternative to selling their soul to the ASICs providers. If they do go open it then becomes an opportunity. However a Israeli company would need to be well hidden in the component list of a Arab system.

They already stated that they expect the bulk of the sales in H2. That doesn't mean that they have nothing to update on.

I think that you need to look at Ethernity route to market. The very nature of using resellers to capture the private network provides means that Ethernity will not contract with anybody. The OEMs and integrators are the ones that contract. Ethernity supply components for the solutions they build.

Hopefully they have a bunch of integrators developing for clients. This is how we will see sales. There won't be contracts for X number of units for ABC company because that would not be OpenRAN. I believe in the DU market Ethernity will take a substantial part of the market but the rest will come through OEMs and integrators not direct sales.
The news now is new OEMs building products and Integrators testing solutions for clients. In 3-6 months it will be volume of sales. Sales now will be small in my opinion.

Bid I thought Oded was product strategy manager. Ethernity will have a CTO exclusive role because it is one of the top positions and often relationships are maintained through CTO or not as they often disagree about method.

I think that Barak left this time last year. Whilst they likely had several options to step someone up Barak was an exceptional presenter and really made the UPF simple to understand in his DPDK presentation which is well worth watching for a simple input. Since the UPF has moved on but it's a good grounding for sure.

I think that they have well flagged events in advance and it will be a TU. They have told us that they expect substantial growth anything different and they will have to inform the market. The edges of that are somewhat fuzzy as always and timing remains the enemy.
