So this provides fiber performance wirelessly in non line of sight. I think that this solves several issues in one. It is also on unlicensed spectrum so no limitations. I like the fact that this has worked through a long process resulting in field trials then just as David said sales will flow through OEMs and third parties (ref to 5G) and here we have a OEM gaining sales with service providers. This isn't one deployment but an ongoing event.

Yes excellent left field RNS. SoC is definitely a valuable part of the portfolio and there will be many service providers engaged for a product like this. Initially 5000 units for what has been a long road for Ethernity. Good to have the company named.

Ethernity would not be involved in this type of project as a stakeholder. Their place in the market is those involved would use product from various sources to integrate with theirs to build potential ecosystems. They will want as many options tied in as possible to broaden the offering.

Indeed. This is the kind of lab environment potential clients will test Ethernity products on to see how they can be used in their ecosystem. Of course Nokia are just playing with OpenRAN. Basically the more versatile and interoperable the ecosystem the more successful it will be. The more ecosystems the bigger the market opportunity. Ethernity are downstream from here.

I think the problem with the ACEnic-100 sales is that if it is 3 months late starting it could be very small by year end and really they have commitment to ACEnic-100 on multiple locations but have no grasp of when the sales will start. The server product is well out of Ethernity hands. The manufacturers seem to have a ready market within the true 5G pioneers (at least 3) however are these in deployment markets, US and Europe. Certainly some of Europes largest are committing to OpenRAN. The DU location in high price real estate location are European Cities will be a major concern. Also the availability of redundant fiber and the cost of laying new means that Ethernity DU product will save them millions. Now Ethernity just have to impress by ticking all the specific requirements. If they do the DU product alone will have a 5 year valuation in the £100's millions.

I think that it's quite right to exclude the ACEnic-100 sales as they are out of Ethernity hands totally. The field trials in China could last all of this year and they may make zero sales, who knows. Ethernity can only have conversations to manage their workload nothing that they would share.
Now I guess that they could guess like me but next year if they say 2021 didn't meet expectations based on a guess I don't think that you will be happy.

It's very likely that Ethernity will pick up sales this year for Private Networks and ultimately the 5G Chinese Telecom. It depends how as to when the return is realised. If the sales are through Techtronics it will be instantly settled, through OEMs I suspect once implemented and direct sales hardware only on delivery with design fees split revenue and likely ongoing royalty.
I am guessing that in 2021 they will sell up to 3000 cards. They could very well pick up much more business but realised next year. I suspect that we'll see a mixture of add on but we can be looking at $2000 a unit ballpark.
Next year H1 1000 a month H2 2000 average. I think that is very possible and if you include server products we could see much more.
Clearly they are not going to forecast this as guessing a ramp up is a dangerous game Sales may not start until H2.

Next 3 months I suspect. If it takes 12 months 5G in China will have been cancelled. I am not so worried about the warrants. I expect a cash windfall in the next few weeks

Sales will come through those who built solutions with ACEnic-100 inside. Sales will come through integrators contracted to build networks. Sales will come through server manufacturers using ACEnic-100 based DU solution in their servers. Sales will come directly through Techtronics. Sales will come through Fiberhome and TietoEVRY. Sales will come from direct placement will Software and firmware solutions.
Sales will come. Are all those that invested in ACEnic-100 and Ethernity solutions wrong. These are huge businesses in their field prime time.

4 £5000 sells in two days. I guess someone needs cash.

It was just SING up yesterday so as soon as they went the drop was inevitable. The market looks for one defining piece of news but that won't be coming. This is now so complex and geographically diverse that it's a jigsaw.
Yes news of sales in Q1 will have value but it will be just one product in just one region. Realistically we have to multiply by 100 then add 2-3 years.
In the meantime I will look to take a few more.

So who may Ethernity be in business discussions with about accessing their patent or the development of a new commercial product.
Certainly wireless SD Wan providers. Most are in the back up to wired sector some are in the pure wireless SD Wan market. These use 4G/LTE but ultimately will use 5G.
The other market will be Telecom looking to deliver 100% connectivity to critical (premium) functions.
Is this a new market for Ethernity. Yes absolutely and like the DU solution absolutely for nothing in the valuation. If this proves a viable solution and the patent is broad enough to block others it could be very valuable piece of IP.

To answer a question about wireless backhaul and this patent. Yes others already use it. However the difference is that is point to point. Like a virtual wire. One transmitter talking to one receiver. Great but the problem is what happens when the signal is poor. The rate of data sent is reduced which is not optimal for most applications and fatal in others. So Ethernity propose not to go point to point. More of a multiple stream on multiple routes using the first complete burst or combination.

The inclement weather is just one reason why wireless has potential to be used as alternative method to connect to the network. A wireless spoke or hub overlaying a wired network adds redundant capacity and insurance against the lose of connection for vital functions. This allows compute to happen say in a truck or coach and the connection back to the network through RAN then a combination of fixed and wireless backhaul.
The clever part is the way Ethernity chunk up the data and route it. It is later reassembled at the other end. This means that the route can be multiple with the winner arriving first.
Some of the original application was dropped as the panel couldn't differentiate between methods. However in August 2020 it was approved on appeal. Now we find out.. Why.

This is about wireless adapters. Backhaul and SD Wan. So behind the RAN and DU. This is where the network is largely hardwired with fiber. This is about doing this differently with a router

When it was first released I said that it will be massive for Ethernity, I underestimated the significance.

The DU solution is unique. Others have DU solutions but they are around the old architecture and specialist hardware. This is a software suction on two pieces of hardware. This will be well below 50% of the cost of anything similar and will locate assets in comfortable situations.
The DU market is substantial and Ethernity could make it theirs. The UPF is a huge but crowded market. The DU solution is very likely to be required ahead of the UPF.

I am encouraged to believe that the DU solution will grow significantly very soon. Looking at the December information

It seems that Integrators may also be showing an interest in the solution. That would be as a retro fit to a CoTS server rather than integeral in a specialist server.
I am encouraged to look at this a a major near term news avenue attracting sales.
