I hope I’m wrong but I still have concerns as to what this sentence on scope of the legislation means:

“ That is why we have decided to limit the scope of technologies within scope of the proposed regulation to mature existing technologies that we have an established validation process for.”
The established validation process presumably is the frozen pig spit at PD which we cannot pass.

Exactly. If Birmingham Uni can get a piece in the paper with the largest distribution in UK then why can’t Avacta? Need to choose the next non- exec director careful to get one with friends in the right places.

There are loads of articles each day in the ‘popular press’ slating Covid testing. Yesterday’s Daily Mail had a piece entitled “Ten minute Covid Test for Fliers ‘in 3 months’” talking about a marvellous UK test developed in cahoots with Birmingham Uni.

Does anyone on this board have a contact at the Mail, Mirror, Sun etc who we can all contact (in same way we wrote our MPs) to get them onboard to agitate for Avacta. I thought the press loved to sh*t stir. I’ve contacted the Daily Mail’s and Private Eye’s email address a dozen times over last couple of weeks but I suspect no one even reads the emails.

Surely if the press were alerted to the Avacta situation they would react. The Daily Mail seemed excited enough about our saviour test from Birmingham Uni possibly being ready in 3 months.

Anyone help with a contact that can get the ball rolling?

PS. I eventually got the same “not interested” response from my Labour MP.

Like other shareholders, I hope we do well. But no big orders from any country will materialise until we get PD approval. And it’s not in UK govt interest for us to get it. With the current strategy the test doesn’t need to be “gold standard”. Innova is adequate it’s cheap it’s in good supply and distribution is well established. There is no upside in rocking the boat.
Have any of you tried to explain the issue to your mates down the pub. I bet they just shrug. They don’t give a monkeys even if they let you get through explaining the colossal injustice that is taking place. Your round I think. Make mine a pint.
