Thanks Bermuda - exciting news and thanks also to Konar and C11 for adding more thoughts. Scancell have some real momentum it seems, at last!
JB thanks for the thread but it's your choice of header that for me is 'strange' not the AGM being held at Cooleys - it's an excellent venue surely. However I wouldn't assume that there's any intrigue in that choice.
EE observes - "It seems to me that the advisers’ roster is now perfectly equipped for deals ahead…" Indeed so.
Doubts expressed earlier about combining the CEO/CSO roles were understandable but I think we can be reassured by now- IMO the CEO role is being carried out with some aplomb by Prof. Lindy and we now have excellence in all important in-house roles and are 'perfectly equipped' with Advisors.
So it's onwards and upwards for me and a well done to Prof. Lindy and the team. Plus good luck to CFO Sath and CBD Dr Mandeep in their new roles.
Johnny I always enjoy your posts. However, with the hectic nature of today's arrival of the admittedly long awaited report, maybe there hasn't been time to arrange the Inv/Ana Q & A as well. I'm sure we will hear soon when the CEO and CFO and the Venue is available.
It won't be very long before we know and also I think Scancell will be excited to do it - unless my Friend Violin intends to participate (wink).
I would love to be wrong but I doubt that the absence of this rearrangement right now, means there is a deal any time very soon. All good fun.
Thanks Ray and the point IMHO is that in looking forward to assure the 'financial integrity' of Scancell, the Auditors, who I am sure have done a thorough if belated job, can only include in their assumptions of viability, known or prudent stuff. Like what is assured.
(Sorry I have had 2 celebratory beers or I'd find the right terms).
IMHO any new deals involving further deposits or something more, are not likely to be included at all in this report and will be a whoohoo if/when such event happens.
Ciaskin good post. GNA
Paul I don't think you are correct there - it wouldn't be 'prudent' would it?
So if we get such 'revenue', that would be an extra. IMHO
Operating loss down to £11.9 from £13.3 million. CEO - "Revenue from the licencing deal with Genmab of £5.3 million reduced the operating loss significantly."
In the Chairman's words, "Remarkable initial data from 11 patients showed an 82% objective response rate (ORR) to treatment with no increase in toxicity, better than 70% ORR that the trial was configured to show. We are excited because, to our knowledge, no other combination has achieved this response rate with doublet checkpoint inhibitors in unresectable metastatic melanoma. Confirmation of this data in a larger cohort could make a significant impact on melanoma patient survival, especially as melanoma is now the most common cancer in young women and is increasing in incidence."
MMmmm REMARKABLE!
J-M C again, "We believe the impressive data from the SCOPE trial, combined with further near-term milestones and commercial opportunities will soon provide exciting inflection drivers." Inflection DRIVERS eh? More than one inflection point!
I couldn't see thanks being proffered to BDO for making the deadline in difficult circumstances LOL but at least the alarmed can take comfort from this, "The auditors issued an unqualified audit opinion which did not contain any statement under section 498(2) or 498(3) of the Companies Act 2006." As discussed, the 'delay' was never because of a problem within Scancell itself.
Perhaps we'll be told soon when the previously planned Q & A for Investors and Analysts will be taking place.
Back to normal then - just waiting for data and deals GLA
Early yesterday Miavoce 6715 on PoG posted : " . . . I expect that they will publish the results as soon as they are able so we could see an RNS during the day at some point."
This has 'gone to the wire' - if we don't get updated at 7 am today there may be something later on. Thanks Mia.

Drac - I see you are staying positive and why not really?
IMO, when the audit work is complete, the AR will be released forthwith and as it's an 'audit' issue with no Scancell problems cited OR implied, that'll be that.
When there's some science or commercial news we'll get a forthwith RNS.
Keep the faith ! As my old Friend Justin would say. GN
Violin. Thanks. I share your feelings but inside, know its a matter of keeping calm. Tomorrow should bring some clarity . . . hope you and yours are well and ATB.
Ipad - I love an optimist. Yes that'd be nice.
Here it comes . . . . . BUT, it's an Audit delay apparently so when they've completed, I think the AR will be trundled out and the marvelous deals you mention, will be RNS'd later, as and when. ATB
Violin - the answer to your question 08.49 is 'nothing at all'. Paul B 08.24 was making a different point.
I'm hoping we get an RNS and maybe the Annual Report tomorrow. C11 yes good to look back at what we can expect, (sometime or other LOL).
Bojo 09.07. Not sure what that's about but I AM confident that BoD Scancell and BDO will sort this out in a fully professional manner.
Just MO but if we don't get the Annual Report tomorrow there'll be some further explanation. Enjoy your day all.
Re. RNS - so will I Chester.
And that's the 2nd 'too' with one 'o'. ATB and GN.
Chester yes of course I know of BDO. I was a Chartered Accountant for 40 years and an MD for 20. But don't ask me about the science LOL !
It's not a question of "they could not raise enough paid hours" - if a problem arises with 'one in the know' in the Audit team it's not that simple.
Criticisms of BDO dumping some Clients are irrelevant - this is not the case here.
I think you are talking about 'post Balance Sheet events' but live in hopes for this - "they will include everything up to the date of the release". Everything? Like 'real time' ?
And "It should always be a report of, where we are at that point in time, plus a forward looking statement to lay out what the next twelve months should achieve". No - we'll get the science through data on RNS and the commercials through RNS. And 'telling us what we are going to achieve' - dream on.
Sorry to be little frank but really - RNS Monday 7am or Tuesday 7am IMHO.
Ray 09.23 spot on . . .
C11 09.30 - but no heads in the sand around here . . .
Violin 09.40 - you interpret "due by the 31st October" as being 'before' but it can also be 'by the end of'. To frame BDO as 'incompetent' is wacky - you don't know what their problem is. IMO expect an RNS on the 30th or 31st.
Dracula 12.09 - first good sense posted is "What's the problem". Or , 'why the tyre kicking?' put another way.
Chester - why are you "amazed'. You don't know what the problem at BDO is. I agree with "Always look on the Bright Side" BUT this, "The delay from the 13th November until now has allowed time for more up-to-date data gathering and hopefully emails back and forth on any potential deals", is IMO fanciful. The 'Annual Report' is the accounts and comments thereon with a review of progress generally not an update on latest commercial discussions.
Violin 13.01 - Para 1 - I'm sure your Guy Diggle can take a balanced view. A bit of tyre kicking again here V - "implications for Scancell and the directors". Balderdash. And "I would expect an outfit like Redmile / Vulps would have included a clause to protect their investment should such an event arise". Balderdash.
Sweet Lord save me from this stuff. Patience !
C11 well be disappointed IF that happens but it hasn't yet.
cw 18.16 - yes i too expected notice of the annual results last friday but it should be monday or tuesday. whatever the problem, bdo will be sorting this so it's 'wait on' !
we don't know what the bdo problem is but talk of 'sacking' them is premature.
violin nice find but the criticism of bdo in that report seems to be related to the dropping of dodgy clients - "over the last year . . (bdo). . have already exited a number of high profile audit gigs in the uk. notably, august 2022 saw reports emerge that bdo was set to quit its role as auditor of beleaguered lifestyle management firm *****essentially, while october saw the auditor begin to withdraw from its role at everton football club – as the club struggled to stay afloat in the english premier league."
that part of bdo strategy seems ok to me !
Violin - your 17.42. Re. attending ESMO, remember Scancell's team are very busy and having been at WVC I guess they chose not to 'do' ESMO. Forget the 'signed off idea' - IMO we would be told as and when and these matters are not delayed to announce at a Conference.
