C7 12.01 - good link - I've seen similar for a while. From recall it's that pneumonia damage to the lungs requires ventilators but C-19 depriving oxygen in the blood is of a different nature. But I'm not a Scientist as you say. And it'll be different from Doc to Doc and as for Scientists - that's another story. I am grateful that Th. seems to be escaping, ATM, but, I worry about the UK too. OK ? ATB

Hi C7. I'm just trying to comprehend what's going on, as are most of us. Read around a bit more - I'm just recounting. If you think that our Govt. and Trump's USA have it under such good control, as you lauded often 2 months ago, that's OK. But I don't agree. TCOY.

Thanks. I've also read that 80% of Patients put onto respirators are dying and suggestions that respirators might be used too quickly. Apparently Patients lying on their side, conscious and with an Oxygen supply to the nose have been doing well - but I guess the view might change from Doc to Doc. The oxygen problem is apparently of a different nature to that with pneumonia. If I see the topic again I'll link it. But the OXYmeter is helpful anyway. ATB

Statistics for April 21st, new cases 15 (2826), recovered 244 (2352) and 1 death (49). Just 425 being treated in Hospital now and we have borders closed and lockdown.

The heat and UV rays help for sure - (and the 100% mask wearing of LOL). Hopefor the UK springs eternal. ATB

Re. Oximeter - what an interesting idea, (but I couldn't get into the link). I used to have one - I paid 11.99 for it a few years ago. A quick look at Amazon now shows GBP 30/40/50 - nice bit of profiteering going on !

Sweden keeps faith with 'going for immunity' and I hope it turns out well. The Govt. seem to be sticking to their guns. . . . . Some recent modelling concludes : "The results reveal that “under conservative epidemiological parameter estimates, current measures in Sweden will result in at least 40-fold over-subscription of pre-pandemic Swedish intensive care capacity”. They also note that at the peak levels of the pandemic hitting the nation, an estimated 15.8 percent of Swedish healthcare workers would be unable to work due to the infection."

Masks are important everywhere when people are close together - not just in Cities. Also masks will be a help in easing lockdown. I won't respond in detail toyour usual - no need. I do wonder if your own 'Carer' wears a mask when she visits ? Here's more :-

Re. ' what errors', I suggest you look back - (and try the link in 16/4 08.35). As for 'hindsight', not me M8 - look back at posts one month ago or more. I agree with your 2nd para. completely - in matters of public safety - the UK must be able to rely on it's own resources.

Can they 'wash' these fluid resistant robes ? Maybe the integrity of protection will be lost. Yes the NHS may have unused capacity BUT it seems the NHS soldiers ARE fully stretched.

Blaming the Press for criticism is bizarre. There will be a time and place to hold the Govt. to account in detail but this is EXACTLY the time for open discussion and examination - enough errors have been made already. ATB (Quicksand time BFN)
