Inan - I too would like to think Scancell will find a Partner with deep pockets BUT our record to date is not good in that respect is it ? Crumbs - I saw the idea before that 'talking' must have begun because we had an RNS on Friday. With respect, I don't get that - you might be right of course BUT Friday's RNS simply announces the commencement and format of the Project. I agree it's extremely good news BUT it's pure conjecture that their must be talks. AIMHO.

My Daily Mail, website doesn't seem to have a 'Business' section at all, I've looked around more widely and can't find Scancell anywhere atm. I've now looked at the DT, DM and Guardian websites and not found any Scancell ention but that can change at a (key) stroke of course. Maybe it'll take another RNS with news of funding and progress to light this flame - there's so many CV-19 projects launching. ATB

Just for the benefit of newer Posters here who might have missed your drift, your Saturday 12.05 was by our previous Chairman, Mr David Evans, who you fairly describe as "a well respected poster". I'll second that description and have always found Mr Evans contributions MOST balanced and enlightening. Hope you are well.

"Funding remains the critical factor - without that it's just a bit of powder-puff PR - I have no insight into whether funding will be available - it is a crowded space and within a UK context the Establishment have duly anointed their favourites - it was ever thus. If SCLP can access funding I think the dynamics of the current situation are completely different;
1. The need is immediate and evident and the naysayers of cancer vaccines are irrelevant.
2. The timescales to demonstrate efficacy are shortened compared to their oncology trials
3. More of a personal view but I do not think that the Oxford vaccine will be able to demonstrate any longer term efficacy - I think the underlying mechanism of action with Scancell's T-Cell approach offers the possibility of a) long term protection and b) protection against a range of coronaviruses (present and future).
4) The route to commercial exploitation is more straightforward.
Life as a Scancell investor is never straightforward but on this one my glass is half-full."

"Germany's Paul-Ehrlich Institut has signed off on a Phase 1/2 clinical trial evaluating BioNTech's (NASDAQ:BNTX) COVID-19 vaccine program, BNT192, for the prevention of the respiratory infection, the first such study there. The dose escalation portion will enroll ~200 subjects aimed at determining the optimal dose for further studies and assessing initial safety and immunogenicity. The trial will also evaluate the effects of repeat immunization for three of the four vaccine candidates that use uRNA or modRNA. Patients with higher risk of developing severe COVID-19 infection will be included in the second part.
A U.S.-based trial should launch shortly. Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) is the company's development partner. BNTX will host a conference call tomorrow, April 23, at 8:00 am ET to discuss the study.
BNTX is up 50% premarket and PFE is up 6%, both on modest volume.
