One further possibility that Synairgen may discuss with MHRA is to apply for orphan drug use. The case for orphan use may be for those individuals who are known to be unable to tolerate steroids who have severe viral lung infections. The data from the first and other trials may give enough data for orphan use prescribing in these circumstances as a lung anti-viral medication. This would afford some income stream to the company above its cost base and to generate some profits. The minimum patient data set would be 80 patients in randomised studies.

I have some genuine concerns as i do not know what can happen.
1. Dividends- can they be impacted by sanctions? The idea of Russian banks being sanctioned, could it impact on this issue.
2. I am aware from the last presentation that underground is not affected until 18 months into sanctions on replacing certain kit. I presume the issue is one of cost as not the whole world is signed up to sanctions and items just get re-routed.
3. Can the company get de-listed. Hints of doing such things were made in Parliament on companies regarded as essential in the Russian economy. I have no idea if Polymetal is regarded as essential or not. If a delisting happens what happens to UK shareholders? Do we lose all our investment.
4. Can Russia retaliate against foreign shareholders in companies active in their country with counter measure sanctions?

Many of us are hugely disappointed this evening and many will have deeper heartaches, regrets and self recriminations. Its a bad red letter day. Many will have a lost a lot of time and a lot of profit. Some will have losses to carryover in trading accounts as CGT assets in future profitable years. Some will write it off as their bit in the fight against Covid-19. A few here may feel they were naïve that a medication directly administered to lungs, with 20 years of research behind it and a really good research team to put it altogether which suppressed viral replication in the lungs would deliver the results you saw today. I can tell you that you were not naïve in having that belief and there was genuine hope, but there was always a proportional risk of some kind of failure and many knew it was possible. In addition many positive signals fluttered around and encouraged more hope and perhaps some to partially increase their risk which includes myself.

What is important today is to establish if you continue to be investing in equities to establish some golden rules and best practices. If by Rudyard Kipling has some relevance as a defeat or financial loss is an imposter as much as victory and sometimes what can follow after a gain. DP I do not recall calling people liars. Yes I had a huge free carry on Synairgen as I made 20k last year on the ups and downs. I take the hit and move on that is investing life. I am still proud of the fact that I contributed to Covid-19 research here in the UK. You win some and lose some. At least we have the guts to invest and try and be successful.

My comment on short activity is evidenced by Ortex short interest on Pensana. The correlation of short activity and the Pensana share price are practically inverse to one another. That is a fact and anyone can pull up a free page on Ortex and examine the data themselves. What we can see is either Theo or the agent he/she acts on behalf of is shorting trading Pensana share stock and a great big light is showing up what they do. Theo at some point wanted 80p and now wants 50-55p. Of course AWF bought 13M shares at 50p because they knew the mine was worth 90% more (when 189M shares as we are 235M today). I find it odd picking a value price on something and trying to differentiate what it is on Friday close to their repeated target and the comments reflect someone who is short and deramping as its the profitable direction of what they want. They are doing this when rare earth prices are going through the roof and are betting on the company not getting finance.

The decision here is much deeper than just Pensana. It is whether the UK wants to be strategic and have a supply chain in rare earth materials. If we had not done Brexit we would not need Pensana and could rely on the EU with MKA perhaps. If the UK Government does not help Pensana then Brexit was a lot of hot air and completely pointless as nobody in Whitehall as any strategic brains as to what is really important. With China now owning 20% of PEK stock we kind of know what may happen when the insiders who own 33% get an offer they can't refuse. The only show in town for UK rare earth supply is Pensana. Whitehall has to say it does not need a defence industry, aircraft engineering, automobile, communications and any industry reliant upon it as those companies will move from the UK to have stable supply chains. Someone has to knock on somebodies head in the current administration and say is anything in there or is it just cobwebs. I will write to Mogg this weekend and copy it to IDS and others who know how important this is while some idiot worries about a police questionnaire an gives £88M of public monies to Ukraine.

Synairgen can be found near 458 place in the attached. If the results were good and the share price exceeds 400p it would be a FTSE 250 company. This would introduce a lot of new reporting requirements for the company.

DP, The original site chosen is 5 metres above a one metre sea rise. The risk of flooding is very low.

A second scheme was approved on Monday at Holderness to the north. If Pensana build is declared economically essential for the nation it will not only get additional planning approval it is likely to get the benefit of additional flood defence activity in the area because it would be regarded as essential national infrastructure. The trade off for the village of Paull down the road might well be a flood defence for supporting the Pensana new site request.

Theorist, You do know that every time the Pensana price has fallen, it has done so in line with short interest activity. When the shorts close positions the price moves up 10,20,30p. When the shorts open the drive it back down in a similar way. The volume of shares traded is incredibly low. The shorter is therefore able to exploit a strong investor base that does not sell a single share. The true active free float is small. The shorter has a disproportionate impact on the stock price.

So if FEED comes through, ATF decision is made, new planning approval was obtained, new reserves given for the Angola mine or financing progress was made then the share price would move up quickly largely because a short equivalent to multiple days of trading volume was closed.

No I don't agree on your 50-55p range as the Angola Government would pull the mining licence and start talking to a USA company or going back to Chinese investors on a new deal to exploit the mining asset. They would consider the UK as not being interested as they failed to give adequate support to Pensana to enable it to be viable to operate in the UK and deliver a higher value product and that the UK and Europe were not interested in the Angolan resources. The in ground valuation of the mine alone is worth more than the current share price.

The relationship with the funders is they are telling Pensana what to do. If you want $600M or so support like HZM,also located in REX House by the way, the Pensana Board would do what ever it takes to get the funding. They are not rowing their own boat and they are not emperors in their own kingdom. If you change CEO or Company Chairman you have the exact same issue.

The only comment about the previous site has come from a local blogger. He knows the second site is bigger than the first site. He knows the company were originally planning to have processing up to NdO or NdPr oxides at the original site and any magnet recycling was to be a part 2 programme and done at a second site. Along come MG and say we do not want to be accused of green washing. A stream of other funding sources all say the same thing pointing to new ESG rules that came in during late September before COP26. The company then decides to get a bigger site and incorporates more evidence that part 2 of its plans is brought forward into one site and they are linking into hydrogen sourcing and will do research that supports ESG funding. They hold off environmental submissions. The hydrology report on the original site was probably fit for purpose to do NdO etc processing, however the extra room and facilities to do magnet work disrupted the planned drainage requirements and that is what the blogger had thought was the reason for another submission. The problem for locals is that ESG requirements are driving the change. It is possible to sort out local traffic by other means to satisfy everybody. If the site does not create air pollution by using filters and is not noisy and hidden by trees etcetera and the company sets up a fund to relocate the dance school to somewhere better than a lot of issues locally get addressed. I have made money on technical analysis and fundamentals when I use them together. The chart I am looking at is the weekly and there the chart folks will see a rising support line and its colliding with the current down channel fairly soon. Look at the two previous occasions this happened perhaps last 3 times.

A rule about gaps in the chart. If they arise because of an RNS and it cuts both ways up or down, then any gaps in the chart are ignored. A gap is only valid if its greater than twice the difference given between a buy and a sell price and we had no RNS.

Just maybe the major investors thought it would be wonderful if HZM shares were incredible cheap for March ISA monies before closing deadline and they remained very cheap for the April ISA new allocation. We could all then average down a couple of pennies and have incredible cheap HZM shares going forward. After all the powers that be manipulated a crash in oil stocks by 70-80% in the middle of a pandemic and ignored any growth response and look where oil stocks are now. They are now driving down climate protection stocks as who cares with high inflation (fuelled by high oil prices). The market is ignoring the consequences of all that carbon puffing in the air with no rain in Spain Portugal and California guess what will happen a few months from now. Its only when everything is burning to blazes that a few brain cells reawake and again investing in climate protection stocks actually makes more sense. Just give it a few months as investors here are ahead of the stupid. Just have more cash around to make entry positions look really clever.
