Chinese president’s dates to visit Pakistan being finalised

Diplomatic sources have said that the dates are being finalised for the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Pakistan.
President Xi Jinping will visit Pakistan soon and he will become the first-ever foreign head of state to visit Pakistan in context of coronavirus pandemic,sources said.
It is expected that the Chinese president will make announcements for further investment plans for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, said the diplomatic sources, adding that president Jinping is also likely to address the parliament during his visit.

I always believe the old saying "theres no smoke without fire" so something kicked this story off, which of the reports is correct remains to be seen, in the mean time we wait and see, eventually all will become clear ( as mud ? )

Latest confirmation of chinese visit from WION news today 12th
Chinese President Xi Jinping is all set to visit Pakistan soon. The meet will be part of Pakistan China yearly high-level strategic council meeting.
The details of the visit are still being finalised and dates are also being decided.

The Chinese President's visit was scheduled for earlier this year, in the month of June, but could not happen due to COVID pandemic.

This will be the second visit of the Chinese President outside the country amidst COVID in 2020, the first being to Myanmar in January of this year.

So definately happening SOON !!!!

we will know soon if it is September, later this year could be anytime so why not Sept; I think it tells us a visit is coming fairly soon so be interesting to see what now happens with ppib / orcp, as nm said fingers crossed.

noted your comments and dont disagree with them, I see this morning ppib site appropriate page has been updated to 04 august but as you said no change for orcp.
one thing that has bothered me for some while is that on that page if you look under the heading acronyms it states LOI = letter of interest not intent, to me there is a very big difference between intent and interest, I know all references to loi by the media and the company always uses intent which is puzzling, your thoughts on this.

I also note you have been busy this morning, i'm a real ale man who likes a single malt, quite like Laphroig, very peaty, one of my favorites is Highland Park, have several bottles on the shelf behind me so lockdown not a problem, keep up the good work.

If JCC and state visit this month then orcp may not have loi issued by then so wont be included, to much emphasis by PPIB/GOP on renewables, better its later in year because at the moment we're being left behind because we were slow out of the blocks in the first place, maybe NM realises this and why she is looking at Africa.

The webinar today was all about Gwadar port, roads and airport development to conect the port.

It will come but I fear not that quick although I would love to be wrong.

HFB that would be welcome in the morning but I fear we will be disappointed, I'm not convinced we will see it this week or for that matter this month, PPIB seem to be concentrating on all things green at the moment especially hydro and there is covid, in fighting within government / regions all slows things up.

JJ you are correct but I doubt that orcp have had any official / formal notice of timeline changes ( if indeed there are any ) so nothing to rns. PPIB website relevent page has not been updated since 21st May so no changes there.

just have to relax and keep waiting, we will get an update eventually but it may not be what we are hoping for, perhaps this is why the sudden interest in Africa.

hfb, just had a quick look and 12 months looks reasonable.
I also notice that we are still listed as no17 ( of 17 ) on the CPEC priority listing, the only one not to have moved forward with any milestones but also the only one that has not got an estimated costing in place, could this be part of the delay?

I cannot find any update so assume its current.

jim I am not a troll got to much at stake here. that document is the latest dated 2015 and I have not changed anything it is a copy and paste, but instead of just blatantly ramping and mostly getting it wrong as has been noted, why dont you go and read the document for yourself its there for all to see but maybe that doesn't suit your agenda.

hfb I posted a few days ago regarding equity requirement which you replied to, here is the relevent part copied from ppib site.

The Sponsor identified as the Main Sponsor in the proposal, having a lead role and possessing sufficient financial strength, will be required to hold at least 20% of the equity of the project company during the "lock-in period" which will be from the LOI issuance date until the sixth anniversary of the successful commissioning of the plant. The project sponsors must together hold 51% of the equity for the same period.

I dont see how orcp comply with this requirement, is this a reason for the delay? take a look i'l be interested in your thoughts.

trilla I think you were right in the first place, the 17th rns ref; agm including supposed q & a was indeed it, my conclusion, although I did give them the benefit of doubt, is that is it.
You'r right it was not questions asked by PI's they were to legally orintated, just playing lip service to us s/h.

washers r u looking in? where you saw the details ref; finance, further down the same list under equity it says the lead company dealing with applications ( in this case orcp ) has to hold a min; of 20% of the equity, not sure how this effects orcp but could it be something holding up the loi issue, if you haven't read it take a look, be interested on your thoughts.
