Not again jake.. SMETS1 did not work for the Governments requirement. Hence they dropped Trilliant and SMS and created SMETS2. Only recently have they solved the other problem using an expert Lab company. So much for your lot. Did you see that SMETS2 is half the price of SMETS1 or was I dreaming. Someone was getting over charged.
Regarding the India multi-platform element that JC was referring to, he would not have been so bold to say that he had something they did not have and needed. They would have screwed him into the ground. Are you saying they did not need it and that he was deluded.
Like it or not from what I hear SMETS2 is well under way.

Crikey jake, that was on here a couple of weeks ago. Basically SMETS1 did not pass for inoperability so SMETS2 was created. In the meantime there was some concern over the amount of SMETS1 that would need to be replaced. So they brought in a Lab company who finally devised some software for DCC to utilise SMETS1. SMETS1 have now been finished and its all go for SMETS2 which is a HUB that attaches to the new meters. Some meters have been giving hiccups (not the Hubs) and the likes of L&G are now used. Single HUB is SIM only and Dual HUB is SIM + CC/RF. Is that simple enough.
I was surprised to note that SMETS2 is a lot less in price than SMETS1.

Hello Bull.Bear.. The likes of SMS do not really matter, in this instance they are just a meter manufacturer, with the presence of L&G on scene by the millions.
Our concern is the hub and when SIM does not take. SMETS2's are going in by the 1000's and notspots are being challenged to keep customers and Utilities happy. Not long now.

Who would logically sell at this stage of the game.
They are trying hard.
The only way is up, just need a few more facts and figures.

Hello jake.. CC do have the only solution in this case because they got the contract for Southern and their software is installed in DCC. In other Countries the Smart software is mainly contained in the meter. In UK for one reason or another it is separate in a hub (Top Hat) and completely under the control of Telefonica for the communication element, not SMS etc.
I would think that 'notspots' would not be highlighted in installation reports because they are catered for. When a Smart meter is installed and connected job done. SMETS1 were stopped because they did not do what the Government required and have had to have a fudge job.
I look forward to hearing an update from JC as we could have up to 100,000 already installed which hopefully we will hear about.

I hear that SMETS1 are no longer being installed, so those figures are no longer current as they are not being counted in Government figures.

Hello jake..There is no point in what you are saying, L&G are supplying millions.
Just to reiterate there are 2 contracts, North and South. CC have the 'notspots' for South. No if's and but's.
SMS may make meters but they are not involved in 'notspots', that is Telefonica, Toshiba & CC. Does that make sense.
Interesting bit of hearsay that I picked up over weekend, so no proof. I thought that 'notspots' and CC were going to be at the back of the queue, Utilities fitting the easy ones first, however I heard that the vans are taking both types of Top Hats with them, so if single does not work they change it over to dual on the spot, saving them another trip. Only what I have heard and probably not all Utilities doing it but makes economic sense.

Do not know where you are going with SMS, they make meters. All Utilities have their own meters made, its the Top Hat that involves CC. We come in when Single Top Hat fails and dual takes over. Meters and Top Hats are two separate issues.

Sit tight woolley, something is on the way. SMETS2 is up and running, our first entrance into UK market. They are not going to pull it after all this effort and it will just build month by month.
Anil seems to be buzzing all round India (big place) so hopefully good results from Mysore, Indore etc.
The BI will probably take to Q3 to get going but a big market.
Just need to see the income coming in, small but growing monthly. A firm chance that Q1 and 2 will see the tightening of cost to income ratio and Q3 and 4 will see multipliers through new and leasing stepping up income.

This might be a case for White Label, to save the blushes. (UK has Top Hats, may be India has Cap Crusader), joke.
We have been told on here that all of these contracts for millions of installations are well under way and CC is totally out of the picture.
I think JC went to India so we will have to see what information he comes back with.

Hello jake.. The only relevance is a piddling small sum too loose in share terms. So why are you trying your hardest to screw CC into the ground, that indicates a much bigger loss. Normal people would say, now that was a near miss and clear off to pastures green. Not you, you and others that got caught out must have lost a bundle otherwise why bother.
Now the annoying probability is that CC and RF is about to take off and resolve and outstanding Smart problems.
Buying picked up today and one good inspiring note from JC will keep the cart moving.
There is a lot of up in this share once we achieve break even and profit shortly.
Talking SP lower only opens the door to bottom feeders and that may well you, with a change of heart.

jake as you seem to have taken up the cudgels can you confirm to viewers if you are in or out at present.
For someone who is so unhappy that you have to keep up negative posts I cannot imagine for one moment you have lost only £1000. That is lost on the main index's in an hour and not thought about.
I have stuck to strong buy on the grounds that CC is a good product which after set backs, mainly outside of its control, is due to have a winning year. As you see we currently have good buys 400k of shares. So somebody does not share your view at this time. As Greengrass knows what goes up must come down then hopefully up again, keeps him happy.
Go and have a word with some of the installers you may form a different current opinion, CC is on the move.

Hello jake.. Of course you are biased. I do not recall reading from you anything positive regarding CC, the site you are on. Apart from the monthly cost which is said to be reducing everything remains the same, so why the big drop. JC said that SP is dependent on small share holders so presumably we are still a fair percentage of total shares.
I have heard, unsupported, that SMETS2 and RF is well underway and no longer fitting SMETS1. That surprised me as I thought that CC would be at the back of the queue. I understand this is because Utilities only want to make one callout as return visits, often from far away is very costly and I believe not covered financially.
This is only my gleaning and not to be relied upon.
Incidentally the 'installation kit', whatever that is, in many tower blocks does not work. A friend lives in a block in London and has trouble with intermittent mobile signal and has to go outside sometimes. I have visions of him walking around his flat with his electricity meter in his hand trying to find a signal. Many blocks will depend on RF for Smart connection.
When I went to the CC presentation recently at Tower Hill I could not get a signal to phone home and that was in the street, admittedly it was narrow side turning with tall office blocks on either side.
The real world is not all easy connections.

You pick up an article, knowing full well that Arqiva is the Scotland contract and high light it against CC who are in the Southern contract and ignore the fact that CC is dealing with the 'notspot' problems and not the main installations.
Again what infrastructure is in place, why do you think they have the 'notspots' problem and have made provision for it.
Again you ignore my point about Towers which in London etc would be resisted all the way.
May be you could come back with more detailed coverage of Arqiva so far, how many the contract was for,how many they have achieved, what 'notspots' they have dealt with successfully or bypassed and move on.
They were probably lucky and did not have the SMETS1 problem so should be well out in front.

Hello jake.. Don't make a career out of knocking CC. Arqiva has Scotland, they use towers, which would take some getting approval down here and licenced bands, so not all straight forward.

I am not aware of any intention to produce more, they just worried about what to do with those installed. There is no mention about 'notspots' perhaps that did not feature in SMETS1 they probably ignored them and only connected the ones that worked.

ITT, sit tight, I am sure there is news in the making. We are just getting underway with SMETS2 and hopefully get included in the early stages rather than pushed to the back as the more difficult ones to solve. Either way Utilities are not going to want customers who apply for SMETS2 to have to wait longer than other customers, so the push will be on to get results.
