Querty, all Councillors have to weigh all the facts and comply with national and local policy.

You can’t just make stuff up as evidence to vote something out.
Like “there are chevrons on the corner, it must be a dangerous route, I’ll vote against it on highway safety”

That is different to there being NPPF policy on losing 20 hectares of grade 3a farm land and proving a site will lose more 3a farm land that the developer is claiming because they were using the wrong agricultural land classification map...

There is also a weighting so if you need to loose 3 valuable trees. It might be justified to build a hospital, but not a a diy store.

Council budgets will be hit very hard if they act frivolously against NPPF.

Costs including business losses are awarded as appropriate.
Individuals who speak at a planning inquiry can also be financially liable in person if they are untruthful.

This is the same council that refused planning lost the appeal and permission granted for drilling leath hill but delayed the drilling by manipulating the planning system for 10 years so the lease expired.

If the oil sells at $50 and costs $17.50 there is $32.50 per barrel profit per barrel before tax.

They have a lot of exploration investment to recoup before tax is paid...

The balcombe application was refused because Angus wanted a 3 year well test.
People thought that was a bit more than a well test and production instead.

Yesterday penguins had Implying UKOG were delaying planning deliberately.

They pumped out intervention fluids.
What as a percentage of the total HH production was water?
And how much of that was water , drilling fluids, or brine to weigh down the oil during interventions ?

Have you heard of the planning guarantee ? Any application should only take 6 months! The clock stops if you are waiting a report from the applicant side ...
