Would have liked to have seen announcement coupled with a deal .... never the less happy to give them a few days before concluding patent grant is not a trigger for an existing deal.
I do think they could have made more of a general IR effort centred around the announcement ....
Papillion .... Agree with everything you say .... I guess my only difference and it is a small one I grant you is that AD is undergoing a bit of a cyclical slow down, while pharma, as rightly point out< reconsider how to their approach the matter and that could lead to 12 or 18 months of reduced contract wins until things pick up again. As a counter to that it is important to note that AD is not "that" important to IXI and that in the new areas that they are moving in to, wearable's etc, they will be fantastically placed when that market picks up again. I think IXI has a very bright future. I do think there is a danger they get taken over for a "small price" and while if that happens we will see very good upside from here, we may not get to enjoy the full potential .... still not a bad problem to have.
If I am honest I am not sure what to make of the Kings announcement .... Obviously not a negative but I had kind of dismissed it as less important but with out really looking in to the details .... I will put it on my list of things to look at this weekend.
C7, glad I am able surprise .... furore over my identity? Why ?
I am glad my contributions are seen as healthy, need to keep some of you old timers on your toes !
We can agree to disagree on selective disclosure and professional competence of CH.
Fingers crossed for a nice RNS first in a few hours ...... has the potential to be an important day.
Sorry that should have been to TF not C7....
Look up the selective disclosure rule C7... a company has to make material announcements to all shareholders at the same time .... anyway .... as I say it is done now. We can agree to disagree on CHs professional understanding and it is natural you would see it more favourably given you like him... Happy to continue to debate this one but if either of us want to sleep, I suggest we leave it agree to disagree. Till the morning, if not sooner !
I suggest you read the FCA handbook on insider information.
If you wrote to LD with about concerns about dilution and she responded we are close to deals .... that would imply that dilution will not or is unlikely to occur. That information is clearly price sensitive ....
I guess the only other possibility i can thinkoff is that this happened late yesterday and they have not had confirmation from their US lawyers who will not be in for a few more hours yet.... put another way they may not have official confirmation yet.
DA & C7, if it is material it is material and has to be disclosed ... they cannot save up or batch material announcements. So I can only think they don’t see it as material information. But even still you would think given the share price they might have used the opportunity to update the market and generally do a bit of IR... I find it hard to believe it is not material.
Cars, thanks for clarification ... ATB
Deal or no deal it is very odd they would not announce the patent grants .... surely they are material ?
Cars, comment actually was would be mad to buy in an meaningful way .... your buy is equal to 1/15,000th of the shares in issue ..... not sure that qualifies as meaningful !
Have some funds available to top up ... Crumbs probably has it about right with his nibbles .... However I am holding off as I still think a "traditional" capital raise is in the offing and might be able to deploy that capital at lower prices still .... however I have enough shares that I am happy to be proven wrong, maybe as soon as today, who knows.
TF, as you said " Impossible to say as I don't work for Scancell or Eversheds" .... that is kind of my point. You have told me that I am negative for suggesting that a no deal at patent grant would push us more towards a traditional dilutive raise..... you note I did not say it became impossible just much less likely. I think a patent grant would be a major item to knock of a conditions precedent list ..... if after a year there are items beyond that I think it is reasonable to assume they are not house keeping items and as such probably beyond the control of Scancell with respect to timing. Here to hoping we get a patent grant and deal announcement together .... here is to being prepared for no Biontech deal prior to any capital raise.
I think topping up at these levels makes sense.
C7, I think once we get clarity with respect to City Financial new management and level of redemptions then I am in agreement most of the “forced “ selling is done. Then we just need clarity with respect to where additional capital will come from to put us back in the fight.
C7, it is a fair point you make. For me the crucial difference is that the others you have quoted seem to have suffered some form of question mark over the commercial path with the science. We have not encountered a similar issue. But once the City Finacial overhang is clear (sold or retained under new management) the shareholde register looks a lot better.
TF, what other conditions are you thinking ? Can they be satisfied in the next @2 months ?
TF, if I remember correctly use Halifax to hold your scancell shares don’t you ? Those checky Halifax sells were not you were they ?
* Should be dilutive: non dilutive ..... non dilutive: non dilutive would be nice though !
If we are expecting US patent grants announcement today or tomorrow then in my view this is a crucial couple of days coming up. If patents are granted and there is no accompanying announcement of a Biontech deal ..... the odds of a dilutive raise take a meanigful step up in my view.
I stick with my current 60:40 non dilutive: non dilutive ratio and will move that to 85:15 if patents granted and no accompanying deal announced shortly there after. Fingers crossed that the faith placed in a Biontech deal pays off !
"Going forward, the loan interest rate will remain at 10% but the lender will receive 15% of the future appreciation of 10.0 million Motif shares above 10p and also 15% of the appreciation in 10.0 million Polarean Imaging PLC shares above 18p."
This in an extract from an RNS put out by Amphion (AMP) last week... although POLX shares have not been pledged it is the first sign of the effect that MTFBs problems being linked to POLX via AMP (our largest shareholder) .... something to keep an eye on ! Hopefully we are now in the back 1/3 of the trials process and we should be getting some indication of how things have gone in the next month or so.
