wouldn’t it be more tax efficient to just do it again at zinnwald... project specific... the debt being cheaper than the sonora taxes that would become payable... but you could always introduce an upfront long term agreement to lease i suppose... for that cash retention to be opened up as an option... if it’s proves more profitable to develop zinnwald rather than keep it in country and ramp sonora to 100ktpa or more with the cash...

dilution... i’m thinking the opposite really... at what price $/t lce could you service 100% debt funding the project + interest... paid back in full in years 1&2... or looking the other way... how much debt funding could you service in years 1&2 using today’s market rate $/t lce... rather than the $11,000/t used in the fs...

i don’t see the need to hive off the asset into finco... but this way does separate the development risk from the plc / asset... and gives the funder more security and control over the cash they’re putting in... up to the point that either a bcn opco buy them out for the agreed fee... or it’s sold off to a 3rd party... pension fund or similar... much like how they fund build and sell a lot of new development projects in the uk...

nope... but i can see it set up as a development financing jv co... 50:50 jv bcn / fund... 50:50 equity / debt... or whatever ratio it ends up...

any ideas how and why bcn would use a subsidiary finco...

page 12 has changed too... it used to say... hanwa has an option to increase it’s equity interest in bacanora to 19.9%... it now says... hanwa has expressed an intention to increase it’s equity interest in bacanora to 19.9%... that will probably be the end result 19.9% holding... during but after all the other equity funding is done...

still wish they’d tell us what the max continuous production rate they’ve managed to get from the pilot plant is... and if that’s got any headroom for improvement or is running flat out...

good to see them acknowledging and finally letting us know about the ‘Project Commencement Ceremony’... it wasn’t a fake article then... one way or another sonora is going to production... agree that confidence is oozing from all directions... and a 10year offtake on the same terms as the original... to underpin any incline of doubt...

nothing to do with them being gazumped last week then...

not having to go out to 40yrs to stack up the economics is a testament to sonora... try changing some of the other numbers... like $14,000/t lohm... 100% equity and ramp asap to 100ktpa instead of a loan payback... how’d we compare at that...
