RE: PRAYING FOR A MONUMENTAL RISE28 Aug 2025 15:20
Hi northfolk, thank you for your kind words, I wish you every success in your own recovery. My brother is in West Yorkshire, had a heart attack followed by a stroke a few years later, he was so fortunate in that he was sent to UCL here in London to their specialist stroke rehabilitation unit for help and support. He couldn't move his left side at all to start with, but he's virtually fully recovered. https://www.ucl.ac.uk/stroke/ see if you can find out may be ?
Mine's a bit different, my GP missed a diagnosis of afib back in 2018 so nothing happened, it came to light last year when out of the blue I was told I was dying! Then I got a reprieve it seemed and then yesterday my new GP sent me my electronic notes, and now there's another diagnosis I wasn't aware of for an aortic valve matter. That, with the untreated afib, doesn't make a good combo, but even more confused today as I've had two echos privately last year and earlier this year, and neither showed an aortic valve issue, so I really don't know what to think and who to trust any more, and that's why I was saying, get your notes and records people and check them, and keep checking them, do not leave it to chance. GLA.
