It was a bit of a social science experiment, I'm a social scientist! I did buy 30k's worth sterling yesterday to try and bring my average down a bit. I'm just hoping that as we inch forward, once we reach around 12-14p, those who got in at 6.90 ish who want to jump ship, will go, but the instis and funders will pick up and we'll then motor on and ride the waves! They like surfing at Bondi Beach don't they? My father went there in the navy, he always had fond memories, sadly, I didn't get him back there before it was too late, something I will always regret. The unexcavated minerals are owned by the Russian State. For any sale, the Russian Government have to sign it off, and that is Putin. If he has other plans for the minerals, he won't sign any sale off no doubt. The mining licences are only worth the paper they are written on if Eurasia were getting the unexcavated minerals out of the ground, then ownership changes to the licence holder. But, they are not doing it, and you have to ask yourself why?

Hi Jiffy, many thanks for the response, much appreciated. I'm hoping that there will be a chance for Greatland to purchase that 70%, what a coup that would be if so! However, probably highly unlikely now with Newmont knowing that Rio are around! Looking good though however it pans out ;)

Merger or acquisiton that should say

I know it's been discussed before but I can't remember what the conclusion was as such, but are we sure that there isn't a first call on Greatland being able to purchase the Newcrest share in Hav (the 70%) if Newcrest were to agree to a merger with an outsider? I just think it's strange if there is nothing in a binding agreement between Newcrest and Greatland to say that Greatland have first call for a buy out of that 70%? I know it's all part of the deal for Newmont, but what say that Greatland didn't get on with Newmont, why should Greatland be stuck with a partner it doesn't want? I know that's sort of immaterial in that Shaun says he has a good relationship with them, but I just find it odd if there's no get out clause to allow Greatland to purchase that 70% and the money obviously goes in to Newmonts coffers. I'm sure if there were the opportunity, Rio would help finance it if needs be. I just wondered with that slip about Hav from Newmont not including Hav in the list, and then it later appearing as if it might give the game away if it wasn't there, is it possible? or am I dreaming of hope that we can have it as a full JV with Rio, which will thn definitely speed things along?
