Personally, I think a deal has already been arrived at with Palmer, and Day obtaining an independent MRE is to put it to us shareholders as juicy meat on the bone to say look at what a good deal we are getting! He can't release that obviously until the Newcrest vote is through but I suspect the way forward has been decided for a few months! Of course, we will never know! But based on that Share Talk article, it looks as though this is how it's likely to play out! my views!

What I find interesting Jiffy is that Share Talk state that Greatland have made it clear apparently that they will bid for Hav and Tel 70% from Newmont without a doubt if Palmer divests, and then the recent news of a further loan facility from Wyloo, would almost make that seem as though it is definitely going to play out that way. It was Zac's forecast for 9.5p in the not too distant future that gg19 questioned, and that's what i think the reasoning is behind that prediction, Zac being associated with Share Talk of course!

Oh it's the same article I mentioned last week, which states this;

"Along with Cadia, Newmont will also get the Telfer mine and associated Havieron development in WA (which could well be a candidate for a sale to a mid-tier goldie if it goes the ‘portfolio rationalisation’ route)."

Okay gg19, let's back pedal a month or so, Share Talk, August 13th, wrote an article entitled "Australia's leading gold miners are not attracted to Newcrest's remnants." Within that article it is stated that the leading goldminers in Aus are not interested in purchasing two facilities which are likely to be listed for sale by Newmont, and it goes on to mention Telfer and Haverion which Daniel Morgan, analyst from Barrenjoey investment bank considers Telfer "too old", and Havieron "too diminutive" for Newmont.

Palmer of Newmont has also indicated similarly earlier in the year, that it would be his intention to divest these assets.

Day has subsequently indicated that Greatland have a strategic investor in Wyloo, and has recently released details of possible further investment by Wyloo in the form of an 'unsecured' loan facility.

According to the ShareTalk article, Northern Star Resources Ltd will not be interested in these mines and managing director Stuart Tonkin has stated that "Any divested assets might not align with Northern Star's objectives". Anything that might be attractive to them is likely to be retained by Newmont.

Evolution Mining also indicated they are not interested.

However, Greatland, as JV partner has "announced their intention to bid for the complete ownership of the mine if Newmont decides to list it for sale."

So doesn't that tell you something? Palmer says he will divest. Wyloo come up with 'unsecured' credit, and Day has made it clear they will bid for the Tel and Hav if Palmer divests!

Then, a week or so ago, we get Zac Mir indicating that 9.5p share price is probably on the horizon.

There are clearly people in the know of what is going to happen here and I suspect Palmer will divest, and I suspect it will happen fairly quickly, and we will bid, take the full 100% (whatever it will cost), although bear in mind that Day has said he is on good terms with Newmont, and unsurprisingly, upon that occurring, and first production nearing, and the gold price predicted to rise, not fall, does 9.5p seem a foolish predicition by Zac?

As I have said, there are people, for sure, who are in the know, including some aspects of the banking sector in Aus, for sure!

Poopy, I've been invested far longer than I've been on here thanks. Remember, I stated 13.5p! I might have been invested before that if I looked back at my trading accounts but I haven't the time nor inclination.

Newmont already know what they are doing, news will flow in I suspect once the vote result is announced. Shorts will be closing out up to that 9 days, still around 58 million to be sold as yet is there not? They will be out or gone long by the vote, and as Zac stated 9.5p will not be far away!

Hip join the dots. Why did Rio come to us? why pick a small mining outfit and come to us, not us go to them? why is the MRE so crucial right at this point? why did Toth go to Newmont as strategic development? why has this latest recruit gone to Newmont? there's a plan between the two giants I suspect, Newcrest is already being eliminated, pretty sure we will be next, more than likely for the whole company, and they had better make it good. Get the Newcrest deal out the way and I think we'll definitely see an offer communicated from Shaun. my views of course.

Hip, if you read, he took up the post in 2022, as head of strategic development!! He has worked for Rio! So has Retallack! Why are Newmont positioning themselves in the market with ex Rio staff? particularly in relation to strategic development? makes you wonder does it not?!

Then add this in to the mix, and I would say it's beginning to look a bit spicy!
