Dip, in mining terms, Hav/Tel will be non core assets, I'm sure. Right now Newmont are crippling us with this uncertainty. Let's hope for a clear direction as soon as possible after the vote. 12 trading days remain until the die is cast for the Newmont/Newcrest deal.

At this rate I think Day needs to come out and say, and be honest with investors, it is likely to be this scenario a) or scenario b) ie. we buy out the 70% or they buy us out. The market is playing on this uncertainty and another 12+ days of this or more will become quite unpalatable, as there was no reason for the drop from 8p, but it started with a rumour which was most unfortunate. Day needs to come out and put it on the line, which is likely a) or b) because he must have some idea, I don't believe for one minute he doesn't know. I also believe he's being primed for a place on the Board with Rio, so ultimately, we will win out with the Rio JV, but right now, this is looking pretty ugly thanks to the market makers unfortunately. The markets want certainty, nothing less will suffice.

Spade, all I can go on is the article - link below. You haven't provided anything to support your argument and no one can, but at least this is an article produced following an interview with Tom Palmer, so from the horses mouth so to speak. He has hinted heavily that he will divest non core assets following the M&A activity.

So the scenarios would appear to be that either Newmont sell their 70% to us, or they buy us out and they sell the whole lot on to someone whom possibly they might already have waiting in the wings. It doesn't look as though Palmer wants Hav/Tel for some reason does it? Unfortunately for us right now, the markets do not like uncertainty.

Could be dip, but he can't give anything away of course, so my view is it lies in what he can't say, not what he does say. Palmer has made it clear he intends to divest non core assets, so we can speculate until the news arrives, but boy, don't we all wish it would come like yesterday! :)

It might be that Newmont already have a buyer in the wings, and that's why Shaun wants the independent MRE so as to make sure we are not sold short. It's the only reason I can think of as to why he would want that MRE in such a hurry.

Spade, I wasn't present, and I wouldn't be certain on that, but I think Shaun is very much hoping to bring the Rio JV along quickly, I think that holds a lot more opportunities and a lot moe cash for shareholders and fairly quickly, if they can speed the process up thanks to Rio. Things changed when io came knocking on the door, and in a big way! my views, but as I say, the Financial Review who interviewed Palmer, reported that Palmer indicated he would divest.

Spade its in black and white in that Financial Review rag, Tom Palmer said in an interview in February that he intends to divest, and I believe he will, why say it otherwise? Whether we take their 70% who knows, but with Shaun running off for an MRE of his own, it makes me think he wants to sell and bank the loot, and move on to concentrate fully on the other things that Greatland has in the pipeline. Anyhow, we'll know soon enough now I suspect, 13 trading days to go to the vote! my views!

Going back to outofreach and his misinterpretation of what I said, I indicated I would report to the FCA, but I haven't done it. I did do it on ctag, I reported the shenanigans of Aberdeenman and cohorts to the FCA on that, I haven't reported anythng to the FCA here, as yet, doesn't mean to say I won't, but it hasn't been done, so please don't labour it any further, i'm telling you it hasn't been done.

The number of shares in circulation is a massive issue and it's that which is impacting on the sp imo. Funders and instis will look in and think that consolidation will occur at some point, so they will wait and not participate right now. The uncertainty with Newmont doesn't help either of course.

the other big question is the independent mre, the only reason I can see Shaun wanting that and quickly is so as to produce it to Newmont to say if you want our 30%, this is what you're going to have to pay. I can't see any other reason. Shaun will know that Newmont are looking to divest, I'm sure, and Newmont may already have someone in mind to sell the whole shebang to, and again, this is may be why Shaun wants an urgent MRE to hand.

I remain of the opinion that as Palmer said in late February, he will divest, and he will get shot of Telfer and Hav, but not to us, and Shaun probably doesn't want to work with whoever Palmer has in mind! my views.
