It's been pretty clear for some considerable time now that a staged approach to the evaluation and development of Havieron is exactly what both Newcrest Mining & Greatland Gold are agreed on already, aiming to deliver early production and cash flows from the project while work continues to define potential resource additions and assess growth targets.

Interesting comments from Callum about the 'old' days, when they originally talked to Sam Garrett of PTR about Havieron, having put most other proposals in the bin!

Sam Garrett was also clearly linking Scallywag with Havieron at the time too, and. as a well experienced geologist himself, that is very positive!

Yup, they really have been crawling out of the woodwork, both here, and on the other site, over the past few days!

Nothing has changed in terms of resource! The gold & copper is still there, and increasing in volume every day. Havieron is still open in all directions, and already tagged as one of the biggest mother lodes in a generation, maybe more, and we've maintained our 30% and now have an extra USD35 million in the bank!

Latest update due next week, when I'm sure we'll find that we're bigger still!

If we work on the previous Havieron updates, it's due on the 8th/9th September.

All 'fun & games' currently, nothing much more... some institutional investors/shorters trading their stock, blah, blah. It'll settle down soon and then, hopefully, onwards & upwards as we head for the next set of GGP assay results in around 10-12 days time.

Yup! Shaun Day, quite rightly, IMHO, and, as he's made clear, on numerous occasions now, is now taking Greatland Gold beyond an exploration junior, into a production company, aligned with continued exploration in our 100% owned tenements, mostly in a region with increasing valuable mineralisation hits!.

Personally, I'm all for that, based on his hugely positive past history.

But, if you don't agree with that stand, you're obviously able to get out now!

Indeed! Newcrest Mining need GROWTH projects! Now, compare Havieron with the likes of Wafi-Golpu, which, although a growth project, is still not resolved, after years of issues (as I've posted throughout that time).

Unlike the likes of Wafi-Golpu, Havieron is in one, if not THE, safest worldwide jurisdictions in the world for mining investment.

The chances of Newcrest Mining not wanting to take Havieron into production, with Telfer just down the road, is miniscule, in the extreme!

As per our MRE update in March, 2022, now essentially agreed with by Newcrest Mining:

The mineral resource update, reported in compliance with JORC guidelines, shows that Havieron’s total endowment (including ore reserves) has increased “substantially” to 5.5 million ounces of gold and 218,000 tonnes of copper.

This equates to 6.5 million ounces of gold equivalent (AuEq), which is 2.1 million ounces or 47% higher than the previous estimate. The gold content increased by 53%, encompassing a 63% increase in indicated gold ounces.

The mineral resources included 33 million tonnes grading 3.28 g/t Au and 0.48% Cu (containing 3.5moz gold and 158,000t copper, or 4.2moz AuEq) in the South East Crescent zone.

Probable ore reserves at Havieron now stand at 2.4moz gold and 109,000t copper, or 2.9moz AuEq. This was 70% higher compared to the 1.7moz AuEq shown in the initial ore reserve estimation. Contained gold ounces increased by 50%, after converting 86% of the indicated resources into probable reserves.

Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange touched their highest in nearly two months on Friday, with most base metals moving higher amid tightening fundamentals....

..."China's push for installing infrastructure to deliver 1,200 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2025 would require an additional 3M tons of copper, which would see annual copper demand from solar and wind increase by nearly 1M tons," ANZ said in a note.

In mid-July when copper was at its lows, Freeport-McMoRan (FCX) CEO Richard Adkerson said the "sudden and unexpected" price decline occurred despite "no significant impact in physical demand" for the metal...

@ barna IMHO, just because we have a J/V with Newcrest it doesn't mean that they're going to go into the minutiae of why, with either ourselves, or, indeed their shareholders. We clearly also don't know what Shaun Day may have asked, or not, and, even if he was given a very specific reason, I also wouldn't necessarily expect that that could be released to the market, as, even if it was, it could have been given in confidence. That clearly doesn't mean that there is some type of conspiracy going on, it's purely that you can't necessarily expect 100% clarification on everything from a company, nor would I expect it anyway. Just like in poker, you don't show your cards to the other players. It doesn't mean that you've won, either!
