As I see it war and a tanking stock market doesn't discriminate between good shares and poor shares, everything gets sold off including great laser equipment manufacturing companies, especially those where people are holding a decent profit. I like to think I was rational enough to realise this early but buy them back before what I foresaw as a great update, any other inaction and bewilderment is just rabbit in headlights mentality unfortunately, and equally ignorant
you are kidding right, have you been living under a rock or something ? I think it might be something to do with a war in Ukraine !
I don't think I've ever managed to time a falling knife yet on the rare occasion I try, in at 95 I guess it's a waiting game now, at least it's not an aim minnow where it will never recover, and at least I have more cash available when it turns
Reading up on some fascinating stuff on Wikipedia on the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 and I wonder if we might have similar secret agreements again to resolve the current crisis
"After several days of tense negotiations, an agreement was reached between Kennedy and Khrushchev. Publicly, the Soviets would dismantle their offensive weapons in Cuba and return them to the Soviet Union, subject to UN verification, in exchange for a US public declaration and agreement to not invade Cuba again. Secretly, the United States agreed that it would dismantle all of the Jupiter MRBMs, which had been deployed in Turkey against the Soviet Union"
It also notes that Kennedy was new to the presidency in 1961 and gave the Russians "the impression that Kennedy was indecisive and, as one Soviet adviser wrote, "too young, intellectual, not prepared well for decision making in crisis situations.."
The may be some coincidence with the new American incumbent ?
what sort of debt though ?
what's your thoughts on the pension deficit ? the one element that stops me investing atm
The last major success I recall Downing backing long term was Tracsis (TRCS) in its infancy, look what happened there 2000% later :)
Thanks for the info.
Reluctantly written this off in the meantime as a loss in my spreadsheet, let's hope it relists at some point, it can happen I unexpectedly recovered my total loss in Nature Group after it delisted around 2018/19
They know how to satisfy their shareholders too Shan. £1bn company in the making as a first stop here imo
its also reporting to the 31st december, the volatility recently then has been incredible
great news thanks, was thinking about adding but now I know it's been tipped I'll wait for mms to walk it back down (if they do)
ok i'll be the first to say what everyone else is thinking, i feel a placing ahoy and more jam as why the need to tell us what we already know (that the standstill period has ended), and why wait until feb ("expected") to get cracking. This lifestyle co desperately needs an airport rr to change sentiment
Hi 42, doing great thank you, still surfing the lse forums still loving it and thankfully beating the market (which is our main reason for being here), I tend to steer clear of the dog shares these days in the main but can't resist the occasional dog trade for a bit of fun
You ?
I probably bought in slightly higher than you guys, at 77p, but much like yourselves been keeping an eye on it as the 40% drop seemed overdone in my eyes, yes they are reliant on a very few customers, but in my eyes a small blip on the road to increased profitability, the director buy yesterday only increased my confidence
