I see what you did there, not the eggcellent update I was expecting.
Lucky to dodge this one, was tempted as I thought the next update would be good but the update came earlier than I expected. Shame really as I think the concept is good but I think I'll wait on this one
"When Iran returns to compliance WSG will be able to resume discussions"
and there you have it in a nutshell, fine but discussions never lead to a contract with this crowd but it's a great ruse to raise cash and keep the lifestyle going
If Tom says one is being worked I for one believe him, from my experience he's not so hot with his tips but placings and frauds he's always been spot on from what I've seen before. This was due a bounce and great if you can time it, but it's still a bargepole from me
saw that, my glass half empty approach made me wonder what future bad debts were in there, you'd expect these values to be broadly similar to creditors if they were any good at getting cash in.
had to wade through piles of jam and delayed jam to get to cash figure of £400k, quickly followed by mention of overdraft facility which tells me they expect to have to use it imminently, why if the debtors value is healthy ? bad debts ?
big fan, it's been my best performing share and I remain convinced it's heading for a higher market given time. Lovely divi, undervalued, leader in its market, and what appears to be a well organised company, what's not to like. I had masses of these at 140 in 2015 and sold them for a pittance of profit at the time but was lucky enough to pick them back up albeit slightly higher in the covid fall. And who could have guessed that if you'd bought £1k of these back in 2008 they would be worth about £60k at the recent peak, the stuff of dreams
Win, like employee appraisal funnies I once read:
"he sets low expectations and consistently fails to meet them"
or
"Since the last report, he has reached rock bottom and has started to dig"
or
"Should go far --- and the sooner he starts, the better"
Maybe we will see a trading update beforehand since we didnt get an agm statement, dare he ?
sold at 254 when it continued falling, bought back at 1.62 and sold at 1.71 when it started to fall again, bought back today at 159.20 just now, don't like doing this as I'm a buy and hold normally and hard work but has to be done as markets forcing the issue
Thanks AngerSharkz, I only just remembered I'd posed the query hence my delay.
Strange retort by Redceo, I wasn't asking for advice I was asking for an opinion (I've been in the game 10 years so otherwise well versed), I'll certainly use the option of avoiding yours though thanks for the heads up
So say for example Blackrock went short at 300 with 1000 shares and another entity (or same entity) goes long at 300 with 1000 shares, long would be around 13% down while short is up around 15%. Your quote "It doesn’t matter which way this stock moves they are going to make money either way" isn't true well at least not in the above example - unless the long continues to average down assuming the sp will hike eventually and the shorts close in the meantime at what they see as a low then yes eventually they have made money both ways.
FTR I bought back in today at 2.66 having sold out before Xmas, figured that divi will see buyers and bad news priced in/oversold. gla
I did far better out of this share by trading it once in a while than I ever did by a buy and hold (except the halcyon 2013 days I regret not selling when £10k in profit), but I haven't traded it for ages as there is a real risk of losing it all now, it's pretty obvious they are in a whole heap of trouble simply by looking at the chart. Sure, if they can get a meaningful rr it might just be a buy and hold (once finance is in place) but it's always rns'd as a 'prospect' with strings attached and everyone is wise to what that really means now. They have had ample opportunities to tell all what their current cash position is via trading updates, agm update (there wasn't), word of mouth, presentations but they have evaded the question time and again
Angersharkz can you explain the principal of going long and short at the same time as I've never got it, isn't that the same as being outside of the share completely ? I've been in this business about 10 years and I still cannot fathom this
see what you mean about DDDD, I hadn't realised they'd gone into admin but the usual heartbreaking stories of those who have lost thousands, I get peeps want to make a fortune and retire but it rarely works out on microcaps
more likely to be a mad rush for the exit before 4.30, no-one will be wanting to be holding this over the weekend
