RE: RIP Cizzle26 Mar 2025 13:59
I get how missed or delayed timelines can look like "kicking the can down the road" and might come across as misleading or even dishonest. But in the biotech and pharma world, things move slowly, and a lot of it is out of the company’s hands. A lot depends on local, national, or federal authorities, who may not always have the resources, urgency, or willingness to speed things up.
Prof. Dawn is a respected academic, and Cizzle is the result of her life's work. I’m sure she’s not in it to build a "lifestyle company." She’s definitely motivated to get this product to cancer patients as soon as possible.
When you look at Ciz Bio in the US., it’s clear that many people involved have been personally touched by cancer. That’s got to fuel their drive to make this happen. And the caliber of people they’re bringing on board is impressive — people like Joseph Kelley, Dr. Ron Greeno, Dr. William Dalton, and Dr. Ajay Goel. With talent like that, it’s clear the company is heading in the right direction and has a lot of potential, you couldn't attract this caliber of professionals on to a sinking ship could you?
So, is the company purposefully misleading shareholders? Probably not. Are things taking longer than expected, yes definitely but as is with most things in this industry. Sure, communication could be better, but it looks like they’ve learned from their past mistakes and are now more careful with how they talk about timelines, using phrases like “later this year” instead of stating specific months.
PS: All the best to you and your wife Neil.
