Or half a loaf is better than none, but here the loaf was already baked and was just waiting on slicing and toasting to go with a nice cup of tea. Darjeeling or Assam anyone.
In which case the BoD's failure to pursue the award in its entirety is especially egregious.
Cumbrian, Reading some of the semi-coherent posts on here it looks like the wait for the settlement is causing some on here to lose their marbles somewhat , though " Go Doolally" might be a better term when you consider its origin. Posting under the influence another possibility, drink can bring out the worst in some individuals .
Board of Donkeys a better description perhaps, though I suspect you intended 'Directors'.
Does the BoD think a name change will erase the memory of the 65p a share they've cost us by failing to enforce the award for tort. Grrrr !!
So the BoD has cost us 65p per share, Grr !!
Ah, but who is selling with the sails of that cash laden Indiaman almost in sight.
The litigation regards Air India must surely continue at this stage pending acceptance or rejection of any proposal by shareholders at a vote.
Was a bit wary after the trading update seemed to have the potential for a profits hit., though share price was resilient before yesterday.
Dipped my toe in here with 5000 exposure. Made a few hundred on this one earlier in the year, may have been 750 don't recall. Hoping for a repeat. Fingers crossed for a bounce.
There are many examples of professionals with decades of experience who through hubris or some other foible end up making a complete hash of things. Night all.
A rather asinine post I venture. We have hitherto been able to exchange views for or against the lesser settlement in good nature I would like to think we could continue in that vein rather than have the board degenerate into the kind of malicious bedlam we see on such as ARB. A shareholder is a shareholder, full stop. The object of investing is to produce income/capital gain and a holder of 10 years has no more rights, legally or morally, than a holder who bought last week. Both are risking their capital to the same degree. The value of a stock rises and falls with an individual company's performance and the general market vagaries. The wiser investor should try to take advantage of these movements. Just buying , locking away and hoping for the best can have an adverse effect on an investor's financial wellbeing. Best not to get too emotionally attached to a stock, easy though that is to do. There endeth tonight's homily. Off to bed now .
Is the outside hope here that Cairn have been promised some deals to make up for that part of the award our heroic Board are prepared to forego. I don't place much hope in that notion!.
Whoops, apologies for that double post!.
So you agree as to the righteousness of our cause but are prepared to surrender our strong position for this mess of curried pottage. We have the whip hand with legal enforcement available, the GoI on the ropes and we are ready to throw in the towel. Where are the NEDs when you need them. The City Chumocracy might want to go along with this but I for one am fuming. What's another few months wait for justice when the GoI's position is untenable. And I am exposed to Cairn for something like 105,00 shares so I will do quite well from the lesser settlement . But there is a principle at stake here. The Dacoits should not be allowed to benefit from their banditry. l may fulminate further anon.
