I'm not surprised Poundland are to close more stores !
Only people daft enough to think they're getting value shop there. Plenty of items are cheaper than (what looks to be) the same item in the supermarkets because they're actually smaller & offer no real value. Leases/ rents on buildings keeps going up & smaller stores will struggle.
In our local town, the Poundland store closed last year & just a few doors down the B&M store expanded a few years ago.
My elderly father loved Poundland, as he thought a 300g box of Kellogg's crunchy nut cornflakes at just over £2 was better value than the 840g box on offer at £4 in the supermarket.... bless him.
