Great notes from the meeting blacksheep. Thank you. Dividend - does not bother me. I'd rather see the company reinvest in the other projects - they are scaled back on Hanscamp until there is more cashflow - and I think that's where dividend cash should go.
I am looking for a capital return increase on investment, and happy to be in for the long term growth.
Think I have enough of my eggs in this basket though - cannot remember but between 3 to 3.5m shares. With any new investment money I am diversifying - although more of these are tempting!

From what I have read about SL, it's in conventional geology, and not shale - and fracking offshore is a whole different ball game in terms of costs than onshore fracking - and normal done to increase the area of the oil bearing rock/sand open to the pipe - as the natural permeability is very low giving low volume production. SL is very permeable as far as I understand.

SL - like North Sea resevoirs have enough pressure and gas content to produce naturally for a long time without any pumps of any sort.

The main impact of US shale is on oil price - when prices rise - it's very easy to scale up US Shale production which then pushes the price back down. But it is expensive, will only get more expensive, and if it were to be heavily regulated like it would be in the UK, the costs of shale hydrocarbons would be even higher. In the UK we know it's there but do not know if it would be commercially viable.

DJ - keep on posting - I enjoy your posts. I really only found out about SML due to this board between 12 and 18 months ago, when price was about 1.9p, and I kept on buying all the way down with average now around 1.6.

I really enjoy with keeping up with everything through this board.

No posted last night - had put the rest into funds before I got too much temptation - that was my 25,000 purchase at 16.985.
If I had not put the money into funds last night I'd have taken more - but I need to keep a good balance between relatively safe and risky - although the NW Income Fund has got me questioning whats safe and liquid.

That is my second investment that I am now frozen out of - with no firm timescale of when I can trade or get my hands on the money.
I have a friend who is very enthusiastic about a Canadian junior gold explorer - Northern Superior - and I have bought the TSX traded shares through HL. The company recently did a consolidation - 10:1 and when they did this we were told the shares could not be traded. It went on and on (since early March) - and when I questioned further - HL told us the company had withdrawn from CREST system, and I'd have to wait until the new shares certs were made up for individuals and passed back to brokers - this would take months. No further updates, and the shares took a fair downward bomb on the latest drilling results - which many experts think were good - but like here I think many speculative holders are fed up waiting. I now have a big loss on those - so will hold long term anyway - but I will think long and hard about trading over borders again.

Changed my fill order for 25,000 @ 17p - so will see what happens - my other fund sales came through - so now safely going to other funds before I become too rash with my investment pot. If it goes through would take my average down to 34.

Well I was never sure how to go here - my average is 41p, but placed a fill order for 24,000 tomorrow. I have dumped a Neil Woodford Income fund which was still open - I have much more tied up in the closed fund. That money would normally have gone into a safe fund - but going to take a chance on more Condor - hopefully. Have gone for 17.5p - will see what happens when market opens.
I have also dumped a Hargreaves Lansdowne income fund - which apparently owns a lot of the frozen NW funds. I will put that somewhere not on AIM though - have enough riding on high risk shares now - although been thinking of topping up a SIPP for my Mrs - some of that will go on AIM.

41p for me. I have been very tempted at these prices to buy more but resisting. I remember on Friday afternoon when share price was mid to high 60's thinking I should take my profit. Never - was hoping for more - then the trouble flared in Nic and been downhill ever since.

I have some cash to invest, and although heavily invested already - very tempted to go for more in SML.

TarryBreeks - Interesting post - but I really think Hydrogen will eventually be developed as the clean fuel. They are already talking about it for heating homes, and living in very chilly NE Scotland - we need something to heat homes, although proper insulation of older homes will help greatly.

The above article about Hydrogen powered vehicles mentions a critical factor - lorry's and vehicles which spend a lot of time on the road (taxi)- need large amount of batteries, weight and charging time - or having 2 vehicles instead of 1.
USA as an example - travelling 500 to 1000 miles in a car does not daunt US citizens like it does Europeans - the country is vast - and that's nigh on impossible in an Electric vehicle - although Tesla are developing very interesting fast chargers which could charge a battery to 90% in less than an hr - that would be a game changer.

I too have seen the Hydrogen producing stations powering buses in Aberdeen - and hydrogen can be produced locally - although yes - would need huge amount of government investment - but might be less costly than nuclear for charging car batteries.

The future will be very interesting. I agree somewhat with your comments about diet - I hardly ever eat red meat now, but don't think I'll ever become a vegan - but methane does not more damage than CO2 with respect to Global warming.

The drive towards electric cars will hugely increase the demand for mined materials required to manufacture these - and battery technology is undergoing rapid development. Lithium batteries are to the fore - and require copper/nickel/cobalt. And maybe more - few links below. Hope SML find plenty of this going forward! Copper price should increase if this is correct - which would be great news for LC

Personally, don't think hydrogen is out of the reckoning as a future fuel.
Digging all the materials out of the ground to produce car batteries needs a lot of energy - and lot of work still to be done with disposal and recycling of batteries.

That was my buy - 147000 @ 1.68 - showing as a sell - not surprised - have seen it many times with other purchases I have made

Like many - I am well underwater here and hoping for better news going forward.
major factor will be the price of gold. I am invested in a very small Canadian explorer and talk a lot with a Canadian friend about this. (Northern Superior). Eric Sprott is invested in this firm - and he has strong views about the price of gold and where it is going - links to couple of interesting articles below. I hope he is correct.

Well added another 23,700 today at 21p. Hope I have done the correct thing, have been invested for a while and this takes my average down to 40.3p - so I am still well under water here like many - and hoping for better news and an increasing share price in the medium term.
Good luck to all long term holders. I am not an experienced investor, surprised any firm with a view to a potential takeover of CNR are not adding at this price, although think any attempt to gain significant % would drive up the share price.

well that's another 450,000 sell appeared - so some available to buy! Hope they find their way into a sticky portfolio

Don't know if City Financial are offloading CNR but they offloaded SML on Friday - 19.5 million shares. I bought some of them.
I had a fill order in for 22.5p for 21,500. Have now dropped it to 21.5p and increased the amount slightly. If RB and JM have faith, it's good enough reason for me. I almost took my profit just before the troubles in Nic started when the SP was in high sixties - but decided to hang on in - mistake but my one - don't have a crystal ball. My average is 49p. Hoping to take it down a bit.

Carnegie also said "A Profit is not a profit until it is in the bank" - very true. He also said "Nobody ever went bankrupt by taking a profit".

I still have plenty to learn.

I also had a fill order (working full time cannot trade live) for 300,000 at 1.65 which went through - so even although could have got them lower am happy with that purchase. Now at just over 2.5 million with average of 1.60 and hoping for good times ahead.
