SOLG people, at this AGM round we need to vote for the current board. Next round it might be a different story, but this is the time to stick with the evil we know.

So much drama from a company that could take us out of our misery with just a fraction of their annual free cash flow.

RK1, as you are such an experienced investor, you must have cross referenced the share price movements against the know stages of lifecycle mining exploration. We have been in the "orphan" period for quite some time now, obviously not helped by the fact that the resource is enormous and keeps growing so the discovery and feasibility stages are in a loop, increasing the PFS delays.
As a result, if you are SOLG, your priority is to finally quantify the resource to then achieve the relevant share price rather than constantly ramp up the narrative to inflate the price before the narrative is complete. The share price will move when the right stars are aligned, not before.

Addicknt, NM is the one in AG, where the real money conversations that will make or break our inveatment case will take place, IMHO.

NM is not working his **** off to win a popularity context. If we all agree (hopefully) that we are sitting on a resource that should price SOLG at a multiple of the current level and NM is the ultimate gatekeeper of the idea that we should all be rewarded at a multiple of the current price level, then it does not matter if he plays hard or he is brusque or arrogant or he gets paid tons of money in the process, he is trying to achieve something quite bigger than any one of us and we are all just passengers.
Everyone else moans about it and want him out but so far he seems to be the only one driving the agenda that is supposed to make us all properly rich.
Come on people!

Anyone good willing, well mannered and properly introduced to the right SOLG audience who can collect our real details and articulate a request to SOLG on our collective behalf to disclose all the information we have been discussing, prior to the AGM, in exchange for our vote? We should disclose our holdings to demonstrate that collectively we have some pulling power (if we do).

I don't normally antagonize other posters here and I am keen on sharing information and interpretations.
However RK1, as you just pointed out, even your best company contact takes you for a ride, so perhaps you might want to accept to scale back on your posts given how you end up making a big fuss of unreliable information.
Right now we should really think about how to approach SOLG in exchange for our support at the AGM, that is the only useful self-serving thing we can do.

Considering where we are, let's get to 44p first, and be happy about it, then we can start dreaming about£1+...

RK1, I am always a moderate participant to this BB.
Understand that I can see through your "method" and so can other smart investors.
You cannot drag me in "your" conversation where you will start to divert the attention to the agenda that suits you, I am only interested in mine, which is very binary and totally unambiguous.
Once the investor makes a judgement based on the very bottom line, there is only one desirable course of action at this point in time, the one I indicated in my previous post.

Ignoring the interpretations, the assumptions, and the straight manipulations on this BB and everywhere else, there is only one sensible course of action at this very point in time, and it requires a clear and unambiguous decision on our side.
As passenger investors with only some influence via the weight of our collective AGM votes, we can only support the side that has shown VIA THEIR VERY ACTIONS that SOLG does not want to be given away at discount.
Whether we can trust SOLG to deliver, or NM as a person or whether we are not happy that he makes a lot of money anyway is inconsequential, the reality is that we HAVE NO MEASURE of the BHP effect on our investment if they get their way but it's OBVIOUSLY NOT in our favour.
As such, our best present position, which needs to be voted unambiguously, is to keep supporting the party that wants to see the true value of the company realized.
We can vote against SOLG some other day, but not now.

imho the reporter has misread the RNS

@redknight1, I think I am starting to dislike your agenda.
Even considering that we know very little of the actual facts that have been driving SOLG's events recently, a genuine SOLG shareholder cannot seriously entertain the idea that supporting BHP at this stage can possibly be in the interest of us small investors.
As passengers with a bit of influence via our collective vote, after all this time we only have one viable option, and that is to stick with the evil we know.
The one thing that cannot be disputed is that despite the clumsiness (or viciousness) of the SOLG board and NM of course, our agenda are aligned and we need to extract a bid a premium. BHP are not aligned with that, hence they cannot be supported at this stage.
Besides, BHP have proved they prefer to operate deviously in the shadows, so I don't see how we can use a double standard when we judge them against our board.

I suppose that even Newcrest would not sell their share (to BHP) for less than 45p.
Whichever way we dissect the topic, we need someone to show an interest for a price north of the current one. The rest is just bad news for SOLG and the rest of us.
