Addict, I agree with much of what you say...
I think Nick will team up with BHP, it's the likely option. However he does need to ensure its not the only option otherwise solg and all of us shareholders will not get a good deal. If BHP think they have this in the bag shareholders will get an awful deal.
Whoever we team up with, solg will need to provide cap ex funding. So that needs to be demonstrated.
I think things will have to change significantly next year, I also think the status quo, isn't tenable, so agree with that.
I disagree 're specials, they were never going to pass, even with BHPs support, this is a factually accurate statement on the votes, as newcrest, cgp, irwin, Wilhelm etc had a block that could only be overcome with 90%+ voting. If they were never going to be passed, or at the very least highly unlikely then I can't see how it's really a major blow. Certainly for the BOD s planning it wouldn't have been the planned for occurance.
To be further conciliatory, I think the market is a little spooked by the lack of porvenir updates, it will be on guard for any scaling back of expectations. I think it's looking for an answer from Nick as to whether he wAnts to step down for personal reasons...any such announcement would likely come at say 10.30am Christmas eve. I don't think this will happen, but it will be on the markets mind because of no material news since the AGM or no confirmation, even in an interview.
The market wants confirmation that the PFS will come in January as well.
I am happy to give Nick and the BOD until say the 10th of Jan to answer at least one of these questions.
