This is the deal that is simply crying out to be made - farm-out Alpala to a major (say BHP), whilst simultaneously the major takes out Cornerstone).
The major gets (I think) 75% in return for financing Alpala to completion; Solgold get 25%. Mine gets financed cheaply and built speedily by professionals. Solgold continue as an explorer, which is what they know.
The result would be a win-win for everybody, and it would send Solgold's share price soaring.
I have no idea why this deal has not already been done - except for "personality clashes". It's insane.

I've said for me it would be my dream scenario as well. However this is no zero evidence that it will happen. Why would BHP pay 3 Bn or so for 75% and give SOLG 25% for free. Why would that happen? , but to say it hasn't happened because of personality clashes is more insane IMO. Its far more likely that BHP have made an offer of JV and offered sweet FA other than proportional funding.
We can all hope for the moon and stars but unfortunately we live on earth in the real world.

If you were say black rock or any major holder and you thought there was a very strong possibility of either a rights issue or open offer and you wanted to take part in that offer...would it be worthwhile selling a small amount of shares to keep the price down knowing that any open offer or rights issue would likely be lower?
I think it's key that Nick does whatever he needs to do as soon as possible...imo

Addict. Equally I don't understand why anybody thought the specials would pass...I don't for a heartbeat think that Nick and the BOD thought that newcrest or CGP would vote for them. I don't believe their only plan was on them being passed.
We can argue why they were submitted then, but it doesn't change that fact.

Quady is was more for the copper, I hadn't thought it glencore as being interested for more copper but they do have a strong Chinese relationship.

Possibly but they would need to give existing holders the ability to match any high bid???I tentatively think.

I fully admit I am not an expert in what can and can't happen in that section of the code, it's a little wooly from memory, so will likely involve case law. I would appreciate anybody linking to case law to provide clarity.
For example can they offer to existing share holders at say 1 to 5 share s held, but inc conditions on the shares such as unable to sell for 12 months? Or a standstill period??? Hence nobody will take it so 20% can be sold to the chinese?
I am sure there are all kinds of legal ways to get round it....

The point doesn't stop much though. An example They issue an open offer at say 1 share for every 8 you hold. Give you 48 hrs to respond to your broker...yes newcrest and BHP will sign up maybe a few more.. Say 35% are taken up....The rest can then be offered to company x.
The rights not to be diluted are maintained but you still end up with 7-8% of the company in the hands of company x which might well be in Nick's corner.(at least if he's got any sense).
The above could be changed in lots of ways to allow solg to do what it likes.

I know that some won't believe this or think it's BS, but all Market makers have gone to a 2p or 1.5p spread. ALL market makers, considering that pre Xmas it was 3p or 5p...
It might just be a tightening of the spread but I've never know all Market makers this tight....

2luke, the point i was making is that i have researched it. Its not just a government view, but a widely held constitional view. If you doubt that view point then SOLG certainly isn't somewhere to invest, as at anytime the granted licenses could be whisked away. The Supreme court ruled on the aspect of retrospective actions and the will of the local referendums against the already agreed actions of the elected government wrt national interest.
There is certainly and probably correctly a wish by locals to ensure a clean water supply and non contamination of land.

There are many possibly strategies for Nick to retain power, nobody is suggesting unchecked power as he doesn't have unchecked power (see the need to keep blackrock and other key II's and PI's happy).

- aggressive as I outlined
- a JV on Alpala
- Increased use of Franco
-Conditional finance arrangement
- issuing shares to xyz company, with OO etc.
-farm out of key projects (such as porvenir in a GGP effort)

To be clear it’s an example..example. Maybe should add a thought and example of a strategy that nick *could use, maybe.
Solg had a very healthy market cap for a company without production, even without a FS. We know Nick needs to issue shares in case blackrock switch sides an aggressive defence would be an offense but it would need to be a friendly one.
This is just one of many potential strategies that in my opinion nick has. I am certainly not saying it will happen it’s a opinion

Firstly. It’s just a thought, hence the opening line, did I fully researc h a corporate takeover over my Christmas dinner? No
Secondly, if you and those that liked the comment are so keen on research did you agree with the Ecuadorean Vice President who said only last month that the outcome of the vote is not going to affect loma , as it can’t be applied retrospectively to remove rights already granted. Something the courts have agreed?

Now this is just a thought, but....
Inv have a FS for an ecuadorian gold mine producing 200-250k oz of good with an irr of 2.4 years (from memory).
They are valued at £30-40m..
Now we could agree an all share deal for them at say £70m...and positions for their staff. Their cap ex isn't massive, but would provide mining experience for us and in a few years a very nice revenue stream. It adds a good good and silver play, something we are missing, provide shares which would likely vote for nick and fast forward solg to a producer......

Something which will pull most of us together, CGP is falling quite fast 4.68.... :)

MF, I am more saying I don't discount it. It seems to specific., Also as I said promise little, deliver much...if the market isn't expecting an increased npv, and solg put an increased npv out then it looks better.

Hannam are working with solg nobody else imo. They are very very close to Ingo.
It's no coincidence this has been released now on the 23rd of dec.
For me, it's a deliberate putting out of certain points, setting expectations and clearing the decks ready for news...
I still strongly believe that Ingo and Nick are talking to Rio and the chinese, what about and whether anything will be agreed who knows??? But I don't believe in coincidence

Alpala had a value attributed to it before PEA..but I get your point. What it means is that as we do more drilling towards a n MRE, considerable share price growth will happen to the targets.
