Hi Zengas, a genuine question...is it a fact that a public listed company is protected, i.e. in the event one of its business units is insolvent, the creditors can’t legally seek redress from the PLC?
Buffy
Ok, as my final words on this... I should have not bothered to respond when my original post was clearly responded to in an emotive way. I just think the recorder issue is a non issue, and no news is just that. I accept that I should not have prolonged this discussion, as it’s unfair of me to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man... Sorry JTD, only joking, it’s just bullets you are short of. :~}
More seriously, I have a large position in TXP, and in my 20 years of investing in oil companies I have rarely seen one to equal it for upside. There will be challenges along the way, and not every drill result will be as good as the first two in Ortoire, but the prospect bank and the leadership here strongly suggests to me that I have a very large multibagger here. I will not be trading these, just adding if Mr Market gets a little irrational, as it tends to every so often, usually when a drill result is less than stellar.
I got lucky, having made my initial fortune in Soco, my first ever proper oil investment; one I spent time researching, having extended my investigations beyond bulletin boards. One sentence finally persuaded me to take a risk with a large spreadbetting position, and it paid off big time.
I wish everyone invested here the very best of luck, but I feel they won’t need too much given what we have been told so far, if they just take the position they are comfortable with and hold it. In fact, as with buying a house, the investment should perhaps feel a little scary at first, but when you look back, you are glad you did.
I always get a little irritated when people write DYOR, but I understand why it makes them feel better after writing something like I just have!

JTD, you seem to struggle with English. An opinion is an opinion. Having facts wouldn’t be an opinion, it would be stating facts.
I can’t recall the date I read something years ago, and I really couldn’t care.
Anyway, the majority of posts here contain the posters opinion. The degree of thought and experience that goes into this opinion varies, as you so clearly demonstrate. I’ll leave it there.
Buffy
JTD, you have twisted my words. Obviously you’ll make more money if you buy at 20p and it goes up than if you buy at 55p. What I was implying was that at every level, people have a new reality. Prices go up and down. All you can do is buy when you have the money and not try too hard to time the market. Do you remember when PB was criticised for raising money at one price, and was then praised for it when the prices dived. Look at the big picture.
As for the stats, there was a study many years back that looked at the RNSs that stated the expected date of a drill result, and they looked at those that were more or less on time, those that were early (very rarely good news) and those that were late (usually bad news - drill stuck, something lost in the well, damaged formation etc). Also backed up by my direct observation over the last 20 years.
Buffy
If it was a situation where we were expecting a drill result, then delay is statistically more likely to herald bad news than good. In this situation, no news is not bad news, and it’s not good news.
As for the SP, whether you buy at 43p or 55p is neither here nor there. You could have bought in the early 20s not long ago, and in 4-5 years time any price in 2020 to date will look like a tremendous bargain.
Buffy
The only time we’ll get an RNS is when both markets are closed.

Whoops..those emojis converted to question marks...
I used to stay away from dogs when I was a kid, as I was scared of them and my chest used to tighten with fear.
Then I overcame my fear but discovered I couldn’t go near dogs because I was allergic and they worsened my asthma. Now my asthmas under control.
I only get a tight chest these days when there’s a dry hole RNS from one of my highly leveraged spreadbets. It’s nothing to do with my asthma, just me getting ready to have a heart attack????

P.S. As Andrew Knott at SAVE will tell you, a ‘Wall of Cash’ shouldn’t be counted upon until it’s in your bank account!
Buffy
JTD,
“Thanks guys - VERY impressed with your knowledge”
I’m sure you would be if you didn’t know who BG is/was!
Shell bought them out, so it won’t just be BG Trinidad they took over.
Buffy
Reading the RNS again, I noticed the wording that I must have skimmed over before. The relevant part was: ‘ .. a question in relation to the business of the AGM’
Does that mean they will only accept questions about the formal part of the AGM? There is no mention of a presentation.
Buffy
Arnie, are you joking? I’ve never heard him use the phrase. Besides, he wasn’t even born when Hogan when Hogan said that.
Hogan was Gary Players hero, and he stole several one liners from Hogan, not to mention the work ethic.
There’ll always be lots of opinions JTD. If they come from those who rely on information from the two best selling newspapers, many of their opinions will be based on half truths!
The Player myth about being the originator of that saying has been repeated and read so many times that the younger generations, of which I assume you are one, have a hard time telling fact from fiction.
Buffy
Neither JTD, it was Ben Hogan!
Buffy
No problem Matt, thanks for the feedback.
Buffy
Highlandmatt, the fourth drill isn’t needed to secure the licence. The explo success does that.
Buffy
Cascadura recorder results sometime in June.
Buffy
Beat me to it!
“I hope that Paul is on early,...“
CAML on first as per the flyer, so looks like Paul is on last. They always like to put the big draw on last to keep people logged on. It helps to keep the figures up for the discussions with advertisers.
Buffy
All previous results have been early morning, so no reason to suspect it will be delayed for just before the TSX opening bell.
Buffy
Pretty soon you will be able to justifying buying Old Pulteney 21.
