I didn’t believe Putin was going to invade and mass murder either, no doubt he was ruthless but there was a historical pragmatism that indicated there was
some common sense…not now, clearly a card short of a full deck, a psychopath.
In 2022 the morale high ground the West and US appear to think the public take for granted is lost given their recent pointless forays into foreign lands their morale compass broke a long while back. People do not trust big government, big corporation, or the media, subsequently the openness to discuss the failure of the West in this conflict is relevant.
This has potentially been brewing for years and nothing has been done to improve relations a tragic failure of leadership on the US EU NATO side has facilitated a dangerous paranoid crackpot to cause immense suffering on a brave and honourable people.
Throwing weapons at citizens and sanctions after the event are a depressing sequel, Iraq, Afghanistan to name two?
Both sides should share blame they have both failed their people IMO. The further danger now is any regime change facilitated by the West ends in another disaster….there are many religious and cultural groups in Russia, and nuclear weapons!
