Gold breaking out at $1304/oz now and buyers here paying 106.5 - gold looks to have turned a corner and bounced off support at $1278 so are we looking at a breakout next week?

And with gold rising into the $1290s seems a good price to buy - market should settle next week and any gold gains will be recognised here. I've got some at 1.02 and will look to buy again before close! Good luck :)

Gold jumped $10 at lunch and looks to be encouraging some buying here and in other gold stocks.

Apologies I was skim-reading and saw it mentioned a number of times - laidback needs to get with it! What do you make of the difference in market valuations between POG and HGM at the moment?

Debt free? Are you having a jolly? Took me 2 minutes to look up the debt position in the HY report "The Company's net debt position as at 30 June 2013 amounted to US$177.6 million" Looks overpriced compared to POG which has an improving debt position as oppose to HGM which is increasing it's exposure based on the previous 12 months figures.

OMI's Q2 results were later than expected. Releasing quarterly results 2-3 weeks after the quarter end is standard practice. Results look good for a £11m company.

Plethora is up some 30% today after receiving a company update, hopefully the start of a turnaround there. Sega is expected to be in operation until mid 2015. According to the BoD they plan to supplement the existing resource base with additional exploration near to the operations. I take your point though that there is a time-frame which is growing ever smaller.

rivaldo - I really hope you are right however the January NAV update suggested we held just £318k of quoted assets. Unless Jim bought some ARWR after the period I think we may have missed that boat. I do believe Magna are holding ARWR stock - they are up over 12% year to date and over 14% from the 52 week low. Since the 31st December ARWR is up 12% and at the time PEBI had just shy of £2.75m invested so our Magna holdings should be worth around £3.08m. Add to that the uninvested cash after mgmt fee due of approx £390k and that comes to £3.47m - the current MCAP! Hi Dan, thanks for your message. I agree it has been tracking the movements of SUMM and PLE even after PEBI disposed some of their holdings there, perhaps owing to one large investor reducing his stake at the same time. Like Vegas has been saying we should really be tracking Magna Funds movement - it touched a new high yesterday and is up about 10% in the past year since listing. I wish you all the best with BLNX and hope you join our journey soon. You'll be grabbing some much cheaper than I paid :)

SUMM falling wiped off maybe 3% of our PF value last week as we only have 12.5% of pf value held there. Meanwhile the Magna fund which makes up 55% of pf value (4x the size of SUMM holding) was up about 5% last week and is resting near the year high poised for further gains. The way ARRW has been trading I wish I had invested all my cash there, however happy to wait and realise gains in PEBI.

Last update we received suggested PEBI have reduced their SUMM holding although we are still exposed. On another point, great to see LSE have gone mobile, much easier trawling through posts

That's true, but i've included it as part of the all in group costs as it is an ongoing expense the company must pay. I guess if you remove that item of expenditure it means we would have turned a $3.3m profit which is a gain of $221/oz. Group costs minus the Samsung loan repayment is therefore around $973/oz - something to look forward to

No matter how undervalued a stock is, the effects of heavy dilution can last for months - that may be holding MML down.

I think Amara made a $1.7m loss last quarter which might explain the retrace. They had $11.7m cash & assets at the end of last quarter, then followed the $10m from RDV totalling $21.7m. Cash at the end of Q413 was $20m. I think given the average realised price of gold was $1194/oz and assuming all 14926 ounces produced were sold I make that a $114 loss per ounce which means our total group costs were $1308/oz last quarter. As we begin to produce more ounces 15,000-17,500 per quarter this figure should fall. Also the average head grade was 1.77g/t which is expected to increase, reducing costs further. The gold price has increased recently also. We must be near break-even now. Baomahun optimisation looks good, all in sustaining costs of $975/oz, reduced CAPEX. It's resulted in a smaller open pit operation with the excess material previously included falling into the underground operation.
