Treadstone - you're right it's proving a lot tougher to break down key resistance around this level than for example any resistance palladium has yet to come across. The basket price is still creeping higher though and that gives me comfort because at some point palladiums strength will have a noticeable effect on platinum. Rhodium and palladium are back to their two year highs more or less now and this should continue regardless of no foreseeable increases in platinum demand near term. Feels like we are banging the drum to the same tune over and over but the fundamentals have continued to improve and despite cash being used for growth by acquisition rather than earnings based (share buy-backs and dividend) we also have Project Echo ongoing which will ensure low cost production for a decade or more. The fact we are running at better than expected output is a bonus and combined with increasing PGM prices we will benefit from improving profits and cash-flow. Quarterly results will read even better towards the end of this year once Phoenix is included. All the best

Highlights: · The Spring/Summer drilling campaign has concluded with 65 HQ and NQ diamond drill-holes (0417-561 to 0417-625) having been drilled, for a total of 11,060 metres (m). The drilling successfully infilled the Inferred portion of the Deposit and extended it to the east and west for a total length of 1,000 metres. The Deposit remains open along strike to the east and west and down dip. · Field exploration commences 3 August 2017 on Junior Lake concentrating on the Archaean greenstone belt which traverses the property from east to west for 19 kilometres and hosts the BAM East Gold Deposit. Three Geological teams supported by a Geophysics contractor will be engaged on this programme. An extensive field exploration programme has commenced on 3 August 2017 at Junior Lake aimed at identifying potential drill targets for the planned Autumn drilling campaign. This follows review of the geology and mineralisation on several of the Company's earlier gold findings including the re-interpretation of the Lamaune Gold Deposit. The reviews concluded that several of these gold prospects, including the Lamaune Gold Deposit, were similar in geology and mineralisation to the BAM East Gold Deposit. The review "encouraged the Company's belief that the favorable geological lithology containing the BAM East Gold Deposit has the potential to continue along the full east west extent of the greenstone belt traversing the Landore-Lamaune properties" The Spring/Summer drilling campaign is now complete with 65 HQ and NQ diamond drill-holes (0417-561 to 0417-625), for a total of 11060 metres (m), drilled for this campaign. The processing of the core, including logging, sampling and assaying, is ongoing and results will be reported when received and collated. Note results have been received for 34 Resource and 3 exploration drill holes with results pending for the remaining drill results. In addition all data is being collated for the preparation of a resource update scheduled for completion in Q4 2017. I will probably await all results released before making a preliminary estimate of the resource, the latest results include some good intercepts and suggest there is more to come as the company have continued to state the deposit remains open along strike to the east and west and down dip.

Hi flundra - today I cast my vote and elected to VOTE AGAINST. Like yourself I'm not holding out much hope that opposition will succeed given the lack of a banner to rally around, namely MC who do not initially endorse this approach. We have confirmation now Ewan Wade Royston Lloyd-Baker will become a non-exec Director in the enlarged company and receive his bonus, whilst loyal shareholders continue to nurse losses built upon his poor forecasts and impaired vision concerning the financial predicament we now find ourselves in. In 6 days there will be a court session and the likely result will see us posting on the AVG board thereafter. The latest document suggests up to 30,706,123 ordinary shares of 5p at an issue price of approximately 245p will be admitted placing an estimated market value over the combined entity of £75m although with AVG trading lower it looks to be less currently. HAYT being debt free, at least after balancing current assets and liabilities enables the company to pursue growth through investing more now cash-flow is not such an issue which is positive but it's a steep price we have paid in order to access this financing. Quite what else AVG bring to the party for the premium being paid I do not know. We can be hopeful at least that with better governance and improved cash-flow HAYT can grow at a quicker pace

To illustrate the growth we have seen this year in our average basket price, the lowest split it's been on any one day was January 3rd when the average that day was just a fraction more than $850/oz. On Friday our basket split was the highest it's been all year at a fraction more than $971/oz. I've yet to work out what that means for our EBITDA but it should boost cash-flow considerably before even accounting for the acquisition of producing facilities and deposits which should boost annual output by around 15%.

Treadstone - My gut tells me we are likely to peak near this level next week, I've said previously I expect palladium to reach parity with platinum around $950/oz but that was before the US poured petrol on the fire! Platinum has fallen a long way behind gold now and if gold does hold or move higher I would expect a big correction with platinum (it being a much smaller market). We know producers in South Africa are struggling to stay afloat, investment for longer term production has collapsed and demand for platinum jewellery has been low recently. So a sudden uptick in physical investment demand as a knock on from this PM surge, increasing the annual shortfall would I think lead to a strong correction, especially given how much further ahead gold has risen. I've been purchasing physical silver more recently as it's the cheaper option to gold ounce coins but still likely to rise in value over time. But I don't believe missiles will be fired towards Guam next week, there is too much at stake and in that event we will see the price of metals retrace I believe unless there is continued hedging on the international markets. IF the North Koreans launch anything even into the sea, gold will jump probably 5-10% overnight and more when Trump retaliates which he is almost certain to do. Either way, tensions won't dissipate anytime soon so SLP should benefit from the highest quarterly PGM basket price in 2017 and possibly 2016? (I need to check)

Platinum up to 983.70/oz and has cruised up to 902.3/oz! These are huge moves on last quarter! US stock market falling as expected. Trend likely to continue until at least early next week when North Korea have indicated they will be ready to launch missiles towards Guam. Heightened tensions now reminiscent of Cold War era only media is instant now, US indices are far too high and PGMs like platinum are far too low. I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest a market correction is underway and if there is a conflict, PGMs become instantly more attractive to millions more investors and companies (simply due to Dollar demand during / excess supply during periods of war). SLP always moves late, I swear this is the easiest stock to play. Just need to stick with your gut instinct, rising pgm prices means greater revenue and profits, buy more before the crowd arrives, sit back and enjoy the show. I know you know this already, but sometimes we question our own sound judgement when the market does not behave as we might expect. This one however is almost always late to correct and tends to do so at a slow pace.

Treadstone - yes I'm pleased with that. Just hope it holds and continues to build from here in the coming months. I'm quietly confident now having crunched some numbers over the weekend including the new addition Phoenix and how it affects annual cash generation. Next quarter results will be released ahead of tax, looks like the basket price will be higher, Rand exchange steady, no change to costs (yet). But in the following quarter increased production as a result of Phoenix, lower group costs spread and increasing EBITDA. Further out the completion of Project Echo will lower cash costs further and ensure a period of steady production :)

Market doesn't expect news for another three months regardless of improving fundamentals but there has been some nice background buying recently. Hopefully news will come unexpectedly and volumes will rise quickly. People will catch on when they see the improved figures realised. An extra 10,000 ounces per annum and the PGM basket creeping higher all bodes well. What do you expect we will be trading at by Christmas?

Managed to source the breakdown of PGMs at our new Phoenix operation. The split is not as favourable as the SDO operation although Platinum content is a similar percentage. Unfortunately there is a sizeable output of Ruthenium which is valued around $65/oz and that brings the basket price down. Cash costs are already quite high in the $600-650 range. This is the split Platinum (61.147%), Palladium (18.74%), Rhodium (7.34%), Gold (0.387%), Ruthenium (8.59%) and Iridium (3.91%) (PGE)

Will read up on that point and see what other details await :) Worth noting PAF's final audited results for the year ended 30 June 2017 are expected to be published on or about 20 September 2017 and so we will get a better understanding of performance at Pheonix then. The acquisition is expected to be completed by 1st November.

Large buys here this past week with HTG back to 50p and AVG at 250p thereabouts. Despite my reservations as a HTG shareholder that this undervalues the company it will be positive for the combined entity as a whole. HTGs cash generation, substantial assets and improving order book gives AVG shareholders superb access to growth for considerably little risk. As a result HTG benefit from the cash position which ensures our financial security and in turn should push the value of the business higher. Looks inevitable now. 1st September I will be an AVG shareholder

Just reading through these documents, have you read the Bonus letter? "The Company shall pay the Agreed Sum to you (ELB) on the relevant Trigger Date. For the purposes of this letter, the following defined terms are applicable: Agreed Sum means an amount equivalent to the gross value of one year's basic salary at the rate prevailing immediately prior to the Trigger Date" This signed off by Nicholas Flanagan, well done those two! A further example of misusing their appointed positions but to be expected by 'big' men in this day and age. Do all the employees of HTG who contribute far more blood, sweat and tears receive a bonus equivalent to one years salary? It's terms like this that allow for circumstances such as the one we now find ourselves in. Ewan Lloyd Baker should not receive a penny in bonus terms given his list of failures over the past year, no financing solution except this proposed deal, prior to this poor forecasting, stiff interviews concealing the reality HAYT was likely to encounter this mess.

Splendid set of results, topping off a very positive year for the company. The most intriguing development is the news that the company will acquire Pheonix PMP Ltd from Pan African Resources! We were all anxiously awaiting news of a dividend or investment in another venture and here we have got what we asked for! We have more than enough cash to settle the terms of the deal, $6.6m is not an eye watering amount for us and we will see an immediate improvement to quarterly production figures which will see it around 19,000 - 20,000 ounces each quarter I expect. We are paying for locality, this is a convenient investment and will help expand income generated significantly, this being nearby and the long term benefits are clear for all to see. We might also hope to see current listed cash cost of $643/oz reduce a Sylvania's Board and management believe that based on synergies and experience from Sylvania's current operations there is an opportunity to reduce the operating costs and improve production output." Given margins are not as attractive as our SDO operations one would hope the combined entity will help keep group costs down. They have also suggested output could rise which would further justify the price tag, however I don't think this was a bargain deal by any means. We are receiving the potential to produce PGM ounces for further 8-9 years worth of similar grade and content at this site. By my reckoning 2,200 - 2,300 ounces each quarter or around 9,000 additional PGM ounces a year which is about $6 million revenue. By contrast we produced around 70,000 ounces and that must be about $48 million revenue. Yet if we produce 8x more and generate more profit because of better margins, holding more cash then we should be at least 8x more than the $6.6m offer. We are not worth anywhere near that kind of money when you discount the net cash after this acquisition. I would expect the company to continue the purchase of shares whilst we are trading at this level. We are gradually becoming a bigger operation with a good outlook and opportunities to develop other projects alongside the dumps.

AVG and HAYT heating up again, difficult to say what is happening but perhaps the merger is looking more secure now and so market interest is returning. Now given the excellent terms AVG has secured, the market appears to be moving towards a fairer price range that better reflects the additional £65-70m revenue AVG will receive this fiscal year with an additional £6-8m EBITDA by my reckoning and more importantly the risk element of HAYTs financial position reducing with AVG being in a position to repay the £2.4m outstanding loan to the bank. Expect both shares to continue higher in my view
