Just makes us Art traders then really, we are holding on to it in the hopes that someone will pay more for it in the future. You could argue there is some uniquness to each btc so maybe like a art collector but an art collector that uses someone else's money to buy art so they can look after it in thier own personal gallery.

I think for me it boils down to us all be speculators, we are not investing as such we are trader.. "long term investors" are really just slow moving traders.

If btc were to collapse to nothing right now ( which we have zero control over) all we would have is a prefab warehouse and a warm feeling that Dickens got a swimming pool to play in.

I am pro btc for making money off it but not so convinved this mining game has longevity.

That is true but then other companies don't have the whole hodl thing. For instance, I am samsung, I make phones but I'm going to stash them away so you can't buy them.

Or I'm a coal miner, I dig up all the coal and keep it all for myself as hodl.

It's why I keep rattling on about hodl, if everyone just hodls it's not a currency as a medium of exchange.

I would love to find a miner that hodls 30% and uses the rest for overheads AND a dividend.. If shareholders only way of generating any income is to sell thier shares based on a assets it has no control over then its just greater fool theory

Just a funding issue over Helios miners I reckon, not sure I've mentioned that for a while.

Matters to me as the value of my investments will drop considerably, if I miss such a drop then It means that I missed out on selling my shares and buying the same quantity whilst pocketing the difference.

I understand the sentiment behind the original post but do not agree with the logic... It is illogical to want to pay more for something than its worth if you are buying it as an investment.

Thatd the bit I'm going round in circles with and then wondering what on earth and I doing "investing" in miners and not just trading it to death.

If the hodl is never sold or used as a form of exchange for something else then it is practically worthless as a currency. Its more akin to an art collection, I then compare it to Nfts and each btc being a NFT my next thought then though is about tulips

I have to admit Ms irritates me with his soundbite gems of wisdom such as when he says about you may gain or lose on btc but one things for sure you will lose mo ey holding fiat.. He then usually makes out like its a profound statement with all knowing nods and looks to back it up.

Of course it's true, you will lose out through inflation if you can't match it but you can also lose 10 or 20 years worth of inflation in just a few days with BTC so it's not exactly safer than fiat.

We need inflation, more particularly we need wage inflation so we can get rid of some of our debts.

Inflate away I say.

Any minute now I'm expecting K3v to say he's been trading it all too.. Seems like everyone's at it... Surprising considering the stigma for daring to sell some a while back.

I'm calling the bottom now though so the miners can pop back up now

They only managed to raise 40mil from that bond raise, no where near what was put forwards, quite under subscribed.. Make of that what you will, but at over 8% I would expect an issue like that to be over subscribed not well under

I must admit.. The increase in electric cost, the increase in network difficulty and the drop in price are taking its toll on my profitability, I'm down to about about 67% profitability compared with 80%+ just a few months back.

It's a triple whammy that puts me off buying any more kit as I most likely wouldn't get ROI before eth goes pos. Its now more sensible just to buy it rather than invest in the mining hardware.

Current rigs are still plenty profitable and competed thier roi some time ago - the ( 1060 cards have roi many times over) but there's just no foreseeable future in home mining expansion...

Nah not depressed at all, all is well here I was just trying to outline that we will always get diluted when investing in miners, it's a never ending race.

Yea RIOT had a good kicking at all which is annoying but not unexpected with market conditions. Mara is looking more attractive to me each day though.

Once the funding situation here is known I'll get a much bigger position open.

He does but he also has to. The only purpose of a shareholder to a company like Argo is to provide money for growth. The company would much prefer not to have the noise of shareholders but they need our money.

I do think this time round though there's going to be a big dilution but existing shareholders will be offered a discount to soften the blow. Everyone will still lose but PW will be able to say that he gave the opportunity to buy at a discount to the Co panties loyal shareholders.

Thing is though... That's why its a listed company, that's why it went to nasdaq.. All to generate money to spend, it's what us cash pigs are here for. It doesn't matter if us current cash pugs get slaughtered as there will be new piggies coming in to the share to benifit from our demise, it's just the way it is.

It's also why with heavy capital intensive shares like this you must take profits otherwise you'll ride it up and get diluted back down. The company and market cap can grow nicely but that doesn't mean the share price will grow along with it.

Yed I see it is a good win win so positive for argo and it clears up one of the avenues for fud.
