I reckon +30% to current price, I've been on the recieving end of that sort of disappointment before.

I also think a buy out is a very real possibility and I think holders will be massively disappointed.

Or of course a big fat share issue, which holders will also be disappointed with (except Kev, he likes to be diluted).

We shouldn't really be put in a position whereby we are even debating such extreme because we should have a public roadmap and strategy especially when Argo like to claim how transparent they are (they are one of the worst actually).. Quarters and years and all that nondescript nonsense.

As you know we don't have exact figures even though argo proclaim to be transparent (they are absolutley not).

But 100 - 120 million (usd) to pay will be about right. Could be a bit more could be a bit less but it will be about right.

Basically, we havn't got the money to pay for the 20k machines we've currency committed too let alone any further expansion. If btc doesn't moon soon I think it's going to hurt us

In comparison to some gpu tech they are 1000x faster.

That's what I mean, it's misleading and a lot of websites are giving the impression it is 1000x faster than its competitor I. E. A S19 xp and it's just not right.

Think about it... Argo has 20,000 S19s on order. They would cancel that order and pay the penalty and just have 20 of the new Intel based machines (they are doing chips not machines but you get what I mean).

Even if the price of a Intel based miner was 1000X more you would still go for it as you only need to maintain 20 machines.

Id put 5 in a bathtub at home and have the equivilant to 5000 S19s.

It just doesn't stack up.

No I'm not? I think you have an expectation of the tone of my posts so you interepet everything in a certain way.

I have in no way said they Intel chips are inferior, I've said they are about 15-20% more efficient.

I have also said that I don't think the market is quite as excited about the Intel chip/ argo news as it made zero difference to the share price.

No quite right but I find the comparison to gpus being floated around quite misleading.. A lot of sites are reporting that its 1000x faster than competitors which just isn't true, its not comparing apples with apples.

Now, the question will be... Is it better to buy the new Intel chips OR use immersion on a S19.

By better I mean cheaper than buying Intel v immersion and longevity of Intel v S19 immersion.

The ultimate should be Intel in immersion but will the ROI be right considering how fast the tech evolves.

I think it's "good" but I'm not particularly excited about it.

If it pushes the price down in the market the miners will just buy more, if it lowers. The power cost miners will just buy more.

Either way it leads to an increase in network difficulty and the need to just keep buying more to stand still.

From everything I've read it basically boils down to the new chip being around 15 - 20% more efficient for the same hashrate as a s19 xp... "probably" using 5nm.

So same speed ish for 15% less power.. That is obviously a good reduction but it depends on the actual price of the chips and thier availablity..

I think that's why the market has pretty much shrugged its shoulders at the news (might change on the 23rd Feb when more details are showcased).

But in reality it's just a more efficient chip, it won't be 1000x faster than a s19 or anything like that it will be 15-20% more efficient and then bitmain will release one to compete..

The "highly disruptive" element is that a new big boy will be in the market as a chip provider which should add a bit more competitiveness into the market and lower the price.

Of course the crazy is that that the lower the price, the more miners will buy, which will increase the difficulty which puts us all back to square (blok) one.

Its what I've been getting at with Argo being small fry and if one of the bigger miners wanted the Helios she'd they could raise enough to just buy Argo out.. I know people may scoff at when I say +30% to current price but I've seen it plenty of times.

The amount of money that's been and continue to be raised for crypto mining is mind boggling since it doesn't really create any advancement if they all do it.. Its an insane game.

The market might not be so in awe, coupled with the funding dark cloud and the complete lack of transparency on the things that matter.

Other miners are bigger, better and more transparent and they don't quote nonsense like" quarters and years" to account for thier very poor shareholder return.

It will have its day and I believe that day will come after funding for some actual machines is announced.

Just in case anyone missed it, I think the lack of clarity around funding is what's holding us back.

Ahh some more of the cheap shares that I'm bitter about missing out on (for the 3rd time since it was said).

And whilst it became public knowledge ARBK fell 10%.

Its not even really the news flow that dictates the major direction its just the price of btc.

A bit like btc being a road and the news flow is the lanes and traffic lights and speed limits.. The share price can move along at differnt rates and differnt ways but it must follow the BTC road it's on for direction.

Back to 65k ish for me and I get to sell up and get out of the madness of throwing money at crypto miners
