birdseye agree entirely with your comment re partnership.as i mentioned yesterday it gives them great potential flexibility and i am happy to take the guidance notes at face value as to the reasons.

small trader no one is suggesting that a value of 1p would be ascribed to any share issue/placement.the reference to 1p is simply a reference to the nominal value of the shares i.e. how they re denominated which denomination is fixed by the company when it is formed and can be changed by resolution if appropriate e.g. on a stock split or a consolidation.we are talking about how many shares the company is seeking formal authority to issue etc should the occasion arise which number is over 170 million.the value at which any placing took place would be determined at the time it took place and would depend on the usual factors e.g. the then current m/v of shares currently in issue any discount to such value given on issue etc.the nominal value of the shares has nothing to do with the market value when new shares are issued.so for example you can have shares with a nominal value of say10p which are actually trading at £1 or 1p.apologies if I'm stating the obvious but simply trying to clarify matters.also not suggesting there is going to be a placing of any or all the shares for which authority is being sought.pretty obviously there is going to be some sort of issue /fund raise but the details are completely unknown and will be determined by the circumstances at the time.

the nominal value of the shares would require a resolution for it to be changed.all issued shares have a nominal value of1p as would any new shares issued pursuant to the new authority sought in the AGM resolution.sorry but i think jam2morrows interpretation is incorrect.if passed they could issue £1.7m nominal value of shares ie170million plus shares.50%of the current shares in issue.happy to be proved wrong if someone can post a reasoned contrary view

no i think you are quite correct hannibal.its exactly 50%of the current issued share capital imo.i may be wrong and happy to be corrected.i did try and find last years agm resolutions but all i could find were directions back to the motif website but never the actual detail.not really sure whether its a bad or good thing.from the perspective of potential dilution its not good but from the perspective of giving the bod potential firepower for fundraising/ partnership negotiations etc it may be very positive which is the spin its given in the notes to the resolutions.would be very interested in other posters views

yes dip stick thank you for the trouble you have taken to set out your thoughts and analysis.i was very interested in your analysis of aligns approach and its track record.personally i never pay any attention to analysts reports.too many assumptions as you say or agendas even if not overtly paid for .that said I'm sure some people do pay some attention and its a small positive to have something to point to which doesn't involve flying buys,big institutions and 10p price predictions.for me the attraction is the sphere of activity which seems to be growing in importance and hopefully will benefit from the growing environmental concerns.not directly relevant but mildly interesting news re the fracking sector in the uk today.still need a contract to push things on imo,but hopefully news on that front fairly soon.

afternoon bignose.i do take your point re Fosun and Orient and indeed after completing my last post i wondered if i should have added a caveat that presumably my slightly negative view cannot have been shared by them.thanks as you have saved me the trouble and lets hope that that their presumed confidence is proved justified and comes to be recognised by the investment community.im still hopeful of a positive response from HK and Macau launches hopefully not too far away.completely agree with your sentiments re management of course.fingers crossed as always!

yes bunion I've been following reneuron slightly (not invested unfortunately as they've been on a bit of a tear )totally different sort of market though and thats where my concerns are focussed.maybe the market for this type of product just isn't there after all,or at least not in the quantity we require.my view has long been that in view of our very low market cap we didn't need to set the world on fire with sales to produce a significant increase in s/p and I'm still of that view but the problem seems to be we can't even get the kindling going at the moment. we don't really know of course as yet how sales are going to pan out but its not encouraging that recordati are thinking about (not actually doing mind you) more market research.i hope I'm wrong and sales pick up but without that i really cannot see any improvement and certainly no possibility of a T/O.hopefully bignose is correct and H/K and macau will trigger local interest but we've got to deal with the tax bill first.venturex"s sp has been holding up well over last couple of months but it will be interesting to see how regent finance the payment.i don't see how they can do it without at least partly involving some sort of disposal of part of venturex but the mechanics may not be straightforward.

dip stick i would have to agree that they are off-putting and concerning.i suppose however that the countervailing view would be that the sells seem to have been relatively easily absorbed without dropping the s/p which has improved albeit very modestly today.i appreciate that the improvement is probably illusory rather than real as its pretty much all within the spread etc.also i assume the sells are indicative of improved liquidity and i was personally put off even more by the poor liquidity prevailing a couple of weeks or so ago so for me the situation seems a little better.just my thoughts and i shall be very interested to hear your views over the weekend.

whilst needing to be careful of reading too much into a single piece of news it is difficult to see this as anything other than a very positive indication of confidence going forward.aimo

well kettle i couldn't argue with that view either.just for me now i think its better if i don't respond to him .it doesn't seem to achieve anything and it starts to get too personal which is not a good thing when investing.i do agree that he demonstrates a callous indifference to the significant losses experienced by many (me included) here.
