in an effort to distract from the failure of my powers of prediction (no FSP announcement today as i had suggested as my guess) i have been looking again at the only factual statement we have had in last few weeks.it was to the effect that there were several expression of interest which were at a level which "could"be attractive to shareholders.now "could" is different from "would" but this may signify no more than a prudent desire to be properly cautious in their statements.conversely "attractive" is slightly more positive than say "acceptable".i completely accept that the current sp hardly sets a suitable benchmark to determine attractiveness.,but counterposed to this is the fact that with the exception of L&G all principal holders continue to maintain their positions.i therefore remain of the view that we will be pleasant surprised by the outcome of the FSP ,although the degree of pleasantness will of course depend on individual expectations.

well you are probably right ,although if we are saying that reluctance to come forward is a barrier it can only be so to those who are aware of the product.certainly agree that advertising is required where possible but obviously restricted in many areas .i dont know anything about promescent but i suspected it was not an earth shattering success,which kind of begs the question why would we have expected fortacin to do much better.anyhow even some modest improvement in sales would i suppose be something.probably our musings are going to be entirely academic in any event as i am very doubtful we will get OTC approval,but perhaps i will be proved wrong.what we really need is positive news on other fronts like china and FDA but all very quiet at the moment.

morning bignose.interesting news.so its come down £10,about 25%. interesting thought about OTC pricing.perhaps they are trying to do some price point analysis.not very confident about outcome of OTC application but perhaps we will get an update in march (or perhaps not!) anyway thanks for posting. i agree its not going to make much,if any ,difference to the reluctance factor,which is our biggest obstacle. OTC status probably would though.

sorry my post was not very clear.obviously there are also the requirements for reporting changes of 1% or more where you are already within the reporting requirements for your existing holding,so could perhaps hear on that score.apologies was just trying to keep it simple.anyway you all know what i mean I'm sure.

henry hav a look at posts from 16.23 to 16.47 yesterday.it looks like a sell but its delayed publication.could be a worked buy order or a worked sell. impossible to say.personally i never pay much attention to large orders which cannot be clearly identified.how often have we seen posts at end of day following large "buy"orders saying how good tomorrow will be etc.how often does it happen?if it"s a large worked buy good. if it's a large worked sell not so good ,but question remains who bought.the only reliable information if any will come in the form of an RNS.everything else is just speculation which can be spun whatever way the posters leanings dictate.just my opinion of course.

thanks for that geordie shores. it emphasises how extensive the vr potential is and we can only hope that melody is a significant beneficiary of that potential. it also serves as reminder that it will be very interesting to see what happens at the end of the current 9 month licensing agreement with Facebook (march/april). i personally expect we will get other very significant news before then.just my opinion of course.gla

agree pascha.one thing i thought melody got right early on in their campaign was the slogan "closer to the music" i don't think it has yet resonated in the public's consciousness as such but with increasing publicity( O2 and hopefully us telecom on due course)it will become something of a masthead.

the next two weeks are going to be interesting.TU could be any time now (last year 28th feb,but 2017 was 20th feb and 2016 11th feb---cannot see any update in 2018).the court hearing to sanction the capital reduction take place tomorrow (should just be a rubber stamping exercise) and of course the FSP result or update.re-reading the RNS about the capital reduction is interesting.it specifically refers to the inability to distribute reserves whilst the share premium account remains and that future distributable reserves arising after the cancellation of the SPA has taken place will be available in principle for distribution (subject to performance etc),so clearly there is some present contemplation that a dividend will be reinstated in the future.i do not think there will be any immediate reference to dividend reinstatement in the update as more time will be required to generate future profits for this purpose but i suppose there could well be a positive statement as to future intention which would probably give the s/p a boost.i am not sure if it would have been necessary to issue a profit warning by now if the trading update was going to be poor but as we have had nothing to that effect i am expecting at least a neuteral update and more probably a modestly positive report.debt reduction is key and the rend has been positive in that direction so no reason to be pessimistic on that front.will we get news of the FSP in the update or before?.i have been predicting outcome tomorrow,but its just a guess and perhaps now looking unlikely.still feeling confident of an actual offer however.gla

well you could be right.the sp did go from +2% to -6% before going flat and i agree a single sell of that size would probably have produced a much bigger fall.will be interesting to see if we get any TR1s early next week.

looking at the time the trades started and the number of small trades it looks as though it may be linked at least in part to the Freetrade scenario mentioned yesterday.
