well bunco i very much hope you are right and i am wrong, but a premium of 150%+ to the closing price on the last trading day before the FSP was announced would be unusual i think. i do agree with you in terms of value though.

i think its going to come in between 65p and 75p.this is just a guess based on current s/p and s/p performance over the last 7 month.i do not have the knowledge or expertise to try and carry out complex valuations using ebitda multiples or discounted cash flow etc and anyway i imagine all valuations in practice turn on their own particular circumstances when it comes to agreeing the actual figure.in practical terms how much are you prepared to pay and how little am i prepared to accept.i know thats a simplistic approach but I'm not a complex person.the actual negotiations will i am sure have been very complex with the outcome probably being largely determined by how many serious bidders go into the final stage. if its more than 2 then we may be pleasantly surprised on the upside.

i would also be very happy with 95p but i am sure there are a lot who won't be

how do you work that out traveller? i actually think it will be somewhat less than that purely based on the current s/p but whatever it is its going to be at least 35% plus over where we are now as anything less would,imo,not fall within the normal minimal parameters of premium to last price before the announcement of the start of FSP (42p). still just guessing really and assuming it ends with an offer which i personally expect to happen

hopefully yes.some posts on ADVFN to be taken with a pinch of salt but going on the last RNS content i believe we are in the final stage of FSP which will have started a few days ago so reasonable to expect conclusion in next few days.my guess RNS on morning of Monday 17th.i emphasise its a guess. no guesses as to figure.

it would be the normal position at any AGM that price sensitive information would not be disclosed or discussed and i would imagine particular care would have been given to adhere to this stricture in view of the ongoing FSP. hence my comments regarding the post referencing the agm this afternoon. apologies if it was not clear as no desire to be deliberately obscure. my opinion (it's no more than that of course) is that we are now in the final stage of the FSP, with the result,which i expect to produce an offer, being announced by about the middle of February. aimo

too true Lowiepete.have a look at ADVFN this morning. awful! the boards are useful to the extent of bringing verifiable pieces of news to one's attention which might otherwise be missed, but in terms of giving weight to opinions and interpretation be very circumspect imo.

agree with a lot of that ProfessorZ.no idea if it is possible to change the accountancy treatment once it has been adopted but certainly don't expect it to happen in any event.the opportunity for new blood was lost with the yooya fiasco,over which i was massively disappointed.its been going downhill faster and faster since then up until last week's P&D .not a lot to feel optimistic about now I'm afraid.

dougie no you haven't missed anything.2025 simply came up because bothwell posted tongue in cheek that he wasn't going to check in again until then and the date just got picked up in a couple of post.no significance to it.also the question of the amortisation charge came up because bignose reminded us that we can no doubt expect the usual profit warning shortly based on the annual charge. i asked whether anyone knew the precise time scale for the write down and if it does run to nov 2023 then its actually shorter than i thought but still 3/4 years of negative charge.personally I'm not sure it matters that much as it doesn't look as if anyone is valuing regent on the basis it is ever going to make a profit.what will matter is whether we ever get to a point of generating any real income irrespective of the amortisation charge but thats a pretty big "if".just my take on matters and happy to be corrected by more knowledgable posters

bignose I'm no accountant,but does anyone know the chosen amortisation period? if its 10 years then a very significant balance to be written off remains.perhaps its a shorter period but still going to be a sign ficant amount I'm afraid.
