hello mel.yes not worried about the company name.minor irritation.not sure they could have done anything about that in fairness as no procedure to preserve priority prior to actual registration.if they have missed out on domain names then that is a different matter as they could and should have been registered before the announcement imo.agreed its strange why they are taking a realaxed approach whilst other are getting on with things. does it presage a t/o? well i hoe so as that i think is the best way forward,as they lack sufficient weight and clout imo to do things on their own.still find it difficult to reconcile that scenario with the gore,dollens involvement etc,but of course events and intentions move on and change all the time so perhaps they now have a different approach from earlier in the year.i also think the covid 19 impact has been downplayed by them(fair enough) as i suspect its impact has been considerable on their plans and may have initiated a change of plan.just musing of course.

afternoon bignose. the way my so called portfolio has performed over the last couple of years i now regard a trade of £85 as positively huge! seriously though the volume has continued to be pitiful (there was one day last week i didn't look so happy to be contadicted).it just doesn't seem to have any pattern to it of any significance.i can't see anyone putting much into this at moment unless part of p&d .perhaps we may get left field news but not holding my breath.good to hear wylie still involved but not sure if he has any real activity.

in relation to company names which is what the article is referring to(not i think domain names)the 2006 companies act int rduced a scheme of company names adjudicators who can deal with complaints in this type of situation and if successful cancel the registration.so i don't think melody will have an intractable problem at all and probably a very small payment to avoid need to go to adjudicator would do it but it will presumably delay matter a little.the practice of registering in this way is not illegal as such, merely now (after 2006) more easily challenged, so less common and less profitable.the article was originally published before the 20006 act changes came into force.

i did wonder about some sort of shell and obviously the timing fits but cannot see any links to melody and there are statements that the director is the person controlling the company etc so not sure it can be a shell. also doesn't really make sense to set up a company with a name which would prevent you registering the name you want to adopt.i suppose it could have been set up by melody to prevent anyone else adopting the name in the meantime whilst the change was approved and perhaps there is some simple mechanism for melody to acquire the name from that company and then change it to plc but i simply don't know.have to assume that melody have decent professional advisers who are guiding them through this.

morning A1EX and others.just on the name change I'm sorry if my previous post was not clear.as iti understand the point is that the vr group limited name which has alreaey been registered is regard3d by companies registry as the same as the group plc name which melody are seeking to change to. they will not be allowed to register the new name whilst the existing name is on the register. the words "PLC"and "limited"are not sufficient words of distinction to allow them both to be registered. its very odd. the limited company was incorporated on the 17th april,the day after melody announcement, but the application was i think lodged on the 16th electronically.amazing coincidence or what i don't know.is there something i have overlooked?the limited company is a single director single shareholder entity.i was going to see if i could find out a bit more but saw this mornings posts and decided to clarify.perhaps i have got it all wrong and meldy have everything in hand,as i would have expected .rest assured they are no tgoing private,.my guess is horrible unfortunate conicdence.

hobbit obviously none of us have any idea when next substantive news will appear.however i do think it would be very surprising if, following the gearing up of the promotional events over the last few days, we then had an extended fallow period with no news. as you rightly say its a guess.mine is within the next week.
